Role Overview

Astera Labs is seeking a Senior Corporate Tax Analyst to join our growing tax team during an exciting period of hypergrowth in the AI infrastructure connectivity space. As we scale our global operations to meet surging demand for our intelligent connectivity solutions, this role will be instrumental in managing our international and domestic tax compliance, supporting quarterly income tax provisions, and ensuring accuracy across all tax filings and regulatory requirements.

This position offers a unique opportunity to build and refine tax processes at a high-growth technology company that's enabling the next generation of AI and cloud infrastructure. You'll work cross-functionally with accounting and FP&A teams, manage relationships with external service providers, and provide critical tax support for strategic business initiatives. Reporting to the Corporate Tax Manager, you'll play a key role in establishing scalable tax operations as Astera Labs continues its rapid expansion in the semiconductor and connectivity solutions market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Tax Compliance & Management

    • Manage Astera's global compliance calendar to track the status of all international and domestic tax filings
    • Review income tax and indirect tax calculations prepared by external service providers for international jurisdictions
    • Maintain organized records and documentation for all global tax matters
    • Research and interpret international and domestic tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
  • U.S. Tax Compliance & Reporting

    • Prepare and file U.S. indirect tax returns including sales/use tax, property tax, and other business tax compliance filings
    • Provide tax return data, prepare supporting workpapers, and review federal and state income tax returns
    • Support FDII and R&D credit documentation and calculations for federal tax filings
    • Coordinate with external tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filing of all U.S. tax obligations
  • Income Tax Provision & Financial Reporting

    • Provide tax data and supporting schedules to external service providers for quarterly income tax provision calculations
    • Review quarterly ASC 740 provision calculations and ensure accuracy of tax disclosures in 10-Q and 10-K filings
    • Partner with accounting team to support quarterly and annual close processes
    • Prepare and manage SOX controls related to tax processes, ensuring compliance and proper documentation

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or in-house corporate tax departments
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 principles and federal/state corporate tax regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and prioritize work effectively
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to work onsite in San Jose 2-3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a high-growth technology or semiconductor company
  • Knowledge of international tax compliance requirements and transfer pricing principles
  • Proficiency with Oracle Cloud or similar ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders
  • Self-starter with positive attitude and comfort working in fast-paced, dynamic environments

Salary range is $125,000 to $155,000 depending on experience, level, and business need. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits.
