Redwood Strategy Group is seeking an experienced Program and Budget Support Senior Consultant to provide program and financial management support within the Department of Defense, with a strong focus on financial data analysis, reporting, and system integration. Responsibilities include reprogramming and funds transfers, data collection and integration, development of reports and briefings, reconciliation of financial information, and support for financial execution. This role works extensively with the DoD Advanced Analytics (Advana) platform and supports PPBE processes through financial analysis, visualization, and the development of executive-level dashboards using Power BI. Additional responsibilities include coordinating RFIs, supporting audits, and assisting with congressional reporting. The position is onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia and requires an active Secret clearance or higher. Redwood Strategy Group is a specialized management consulting firm that supports the federal government with program execution, financial management, analytics, and budget operations across the Department of Defense. Through their work with senior leadership and mission teams, they provide support for financial reporting, data integration, and enterprise-level decision-making for military departments and defense agencies. Key Responsibilities -Prepare and review reprogramming and funds transfer actions within DoD -Provide support with the collection, integration, analysis, and visualization of financial data, including data calls and the development of reports, briefings, and dashboards -Support the submission quality check process for all financial information and coordinate with agencies to resolve data discrepancies -Review monthly financial data; monitor, reconcile, and report data against plans, forecasts, and budget targets to perform analysis and generate summary and detail reports and executive-level information papers -Perform support and analysis activities to document financial execution for budget accounts overseen by OUSD(C) and design and test financial data integration into the DoD Advanced Analytics (Advana) platform -Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to support leadership decision-making -Assist with the distribution and consolidation of Requests for Information (RFIs) from internal and external organizations -Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manage budget exhibit printing, and support ongoing PPBE reform efforts -Provide support in compiling data and information for audit closure and timely submission of congressional reports Qualifications
  • Willingness to work onsite at the Pentagon daily
  • Active Secret clearance or higher
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years supporting DoD major systems or programs
  • At least 3 years of experience in DoD financial management analytics and reconciliations, including PPBE experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Advana, PowerBI Dashboards, and Data
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work extensively with financial data
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical requirements
  • Demonstrated experience preparing professional briefing books, reports, and visual analytics products
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects across multiple customers
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with customers
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce quality written products under tight deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills to collaborate across DoD organizations

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of Defense Budget Systems, including Budget to Appropriation (B2A)/Enterprise Funds Distribution (EFD), MAX A-11 Information System, and Standard Data Collection System (SDCS)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with multi-media development applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with state-of-the-art analytics and data visualization tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accounting reports including AR (M) 1002, AR (M) 725, and SF 133
  • Demonstrated federal agency experience, with OMB and/or Congressional experience highly preferred
  • Extensive experience translating stakeholder requirements into executable solutions
  • Experience formulating long-range budgetary requirements based on established policies and concepts
  • Federal or DoD budget experience

    $125,000 – $145,000 per year
