Senior Construction Project Engineer   Langford & Low Construction  Portland, ME     Langford & Low Construction is seeking a Senior Construction Project Engineer, to be based in their Portland, ME office.     Requirements of the Senior Construction Project Engineer:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related field 
  • 4-6 years of experience in construction or construction management 
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing

  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling software

  • Responsibilities of the Senior Construction Project Engineer:
  • Assist Project Managers in developing project schedules, work plans, and execution strategies 
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues 
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts 
  • Lead constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives 
  • Track project progress and support schedule updates and look-ahead planning 
  • Assist in cost control, forecasting, and change order management 
  • Review subcontractor scopes, pay applications, and quantity take-offs 
  • Support procurement activities, including material tracking and vendor coordination 
  • Ensure construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards 
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation 
  • Monitor field work for compliance with approved plans and industry best practices 
  • Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities 
  • Support site teams with daily construction activities and issue resolution 
  • Coordinate with superintendents to ensure safe and efficient work sequencing 
  • Enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance 
  • Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings 
  • Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, and technical correspondence 
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical queries from internal and external stakeholders 
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation systems
