Langford & Low Construction is seeking a Senior Construction Project Engineer, to be based in their Portland, ME office.
Requirements of the Senior Construction Project Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related field
4-6 years of experience in construction or construction management
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Proficiency in project management and scheduling software
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to commute to Portland, ME and travel to job sites Monday through Friday.
Benefits of the Job:
Salary starting at $85,000, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities of the Senior Construction Project Engineer:
Assist Project Managers in developing project schedules, work plans, and execution strategies
Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Lead constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives
Track project progress and support schedule updates and look-ahead planning
Assist in cost control, forecasting, and change order management
Review subcontractor scopes, pay applications, and quantity take-offs
Support procurement activities, including material tracking and vendor coordination
Ensure construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation
Monitor field work for compliance with approved plans and industry best practices
Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
Support site teams with daily construction activities and issue resolution
Coordinate with superintendents to ensure safe and efficient work sequencing
Enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance
Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings
Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, and technical correspondence
Serve as a point of contact for technical queries from internal and external stakeholders
Maintain accurate project records and documentation systems
