Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science (or related field) from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
    • Minimum 24 months of relevant computer support or technical experience
    • Must clearly demonstrate 10 years' experience within the past 15 years, in deploying and supporting enterprise-level IT systems, including server-based applications.
    • Must clearly demonstrate five (5) years’ experience in implementing complex security controls and participating in system change management within the Government of Canada.
    • MUST hold a valid Secret Security clearance
  • Typical Duties May Include:
    • Coordinating emerging technology application specifications
    • Acting as a liaison between vendors, technicians, and end-users
    • Providing user training and technical support for emerging technologies
    • Reproducing and resolving technical issues
    • Implementing and advising on complex security requirements
    • Supporting network, system, and Internet-related issues
    • Maintaining logs of problems and solutions
    • Designing and deploying server-based systems and applications
    • Participating in department-wide system upgrades
