The Senior Compositing Artist is a 2D/3D compositing expert, capable of handling complex shots while bringing strong artistic and technical value. They often serve as mentors within the team and are a key point of reference for other artists.
Production:
Take ownership of complex shots or sequences
Create visually compelling compositions while meeting technical requirements
Anticipate and resolve technical and creative challenges independently
Contribute to the improvement of departmental tools, templates, and workflows
Actively participate in internal reviews and provide constructive input
Collaboration:
Guide and support junior and mid-level artists
Communicate effectively with Leads, Supervisors, and other departments
Help ensure visual consistency across shots
Assist in onboarding new artists into the pipeline and studio culture
Ability to handle multiple shots simultaneously under tight deadlines
Motivation to learn, grow, and share expertise
Strong artistic eye for detail, composition, and seamless integration
Ability to propose creative solutions that meet production needs
Solid experience in a structured production environment
Ability to solve technical problems independently
Basic English skills (spoken and written)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Familiarity with scripting (TCL, Python)
Experience with ShotGrid or similar tools
Sensitivity to photography, composition, and color theory
Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment
The person in this role will work closely with our Paris studio in a bilingual environment, as well as with international partners, talent, and clients. They will regularly interact with non-French-speaking stakeholders across various productions and strategic communications, in order to present and promote the creative and technical strengths of Mikros Animation on a global scale.
