Livevox is seeking a Senior Site Reliability engineer to fill a position with a focus to support expansion and growth of the Livevox Platform.  As a Senior SRE, you will help develop and implement engineering projects for Livevox infrastructure and production systems. 

The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, software development experience, a strong operational background and in depth knowledge of Public Cloud products.  Candidates must work well within a distributed remote team environment and have excellent documentation and communication skills.

We have on-call rotation every ~3 weeks with rare escalations outside of rotation. Incidents are uncommon. This is not a first-line support position.

Responsibilities:

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues arising in Development, Quality Assurance and Production environments
  • Build creative engineering solutions to operations and infrastructure problems, focusing on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation
  • Implement strategies and plans to increase service reliability
  • Work with engineering teams on observability topics throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Must be a motivated self-starter with attention to detail
  • 5 years experience with Linux system administration
  • 3+ years’ experience with AWS/Cloud infrastructure
  • Proven ability to automate common administration tasks.
  • Team oriented performer, focused on the tasks and goals of the organization
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • 2+ years’ experience with scripting, e.g., shell, python
  • 2+ years’ experience with configuration management and automation
  • Experience working with large network and systems infrastructure
  • Be able to participate in after-hours (nighttime, weekend) scheduled maintenance windows

Qualifications and Other Desired Characteristics:

  • 7 years of experience in engineering and technical development
  • Experience with SRE or DevOps.
  • BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related network engineering field
  • Experience in an Ops/NOC environment involving a geographically distributed network
  • Hands on experience with automation framework such as Terraform, ansible, Puppet, GitLab-CI
  • Familiarity with Information Security best practices and concepts that are required for security frameworks and standards such as PCI, HIPAA, ISO27001 and others
