Senior Cloud Security Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the security of cloud-native platforms and infrastructure. You will lead hands-on efforts to design and implement scalable security controls, while collaborating closely with platform and infrastructure teams to integrate best practices into workflows. This role combines technical expertise with strategic influence, ensuring systems are secure by design and resilient at scale. You will conduct threat modeling, risk analysis, and implement mitigation strategies for critical systems. The position offers a dynamic, remote-friendly environment where you will shape infrastructure security and contribute to enterprise-wide security initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to adopt cutting-edge technologies and influence how secure, high-performance systems are deployed and maintained.

Accountabilities:
• Design and implement scalable security controls across cloud-native platforms.
• Harden infrastructure components using infrastructure-as-code, policy enforcement, and service isolation.
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and “secure by default” development environments.
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to embed security best practices into architecture and workflows.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and mitigation planning for critical systems.
• Drive improvements in monitoring, detection, and incident response across the platform.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain tooling to support security initiatives and platform resilience.

Requirements

 • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud security roles.
• Deep understanding of secure cloud environments (AWS, GCP), identity and access management, and system hardening.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CDK, Kubernetes, and CI/CD security tools.
• Skilled at balancing engineering realities with principled security practices.
• Proven track record of shipping secure, resilient systems at scale.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in a collaborative, remote-friendly environment.

Bonus / Preferred:
• Experience building or scaling security automation pipelines.
• Contributions to open-source security projects or tools.
• Relevant certifications such as GCP Security Engineer, AWS Security, CISSP, or OSCP.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related fields.
