About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, optimize, and support large-scale, highly available multi-cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will own key components of Pindrop’s SaaS platform across AWS and GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and observability of our systems. You will thrive in an environment with evolving priorities, collaborate across teams, and drive automation and modernization initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, document, build, maintain, and optimize large-scale, multi-cloud infrastructure and services.

  • Own critical components of our SaaS platform operating in AWS and GCP.

  • Manage, evolve, and optimize observability infrastructure, tooling, and processes.

  • Analyze system performance, usability, and stability to identify and implement innovative improvements.

  • Identify bottlenecks and manual or suboptimal processes; automate and operationalize them into highly reliable systems.

  • Collaborate across multiple teams while managing concurrent assignments and promoting best practices.

  • Mature operational processes from ad-hoc to well-optimized and well-documented.

  • Improve scalability, cost efficiency, and stability of core cloud components.

Who You Are

  • A versatile engineer who can wear multiple hats, shift context quickly, and excel without rigid job boundaries.

  • Able to understand software and cloud platforms deeply, becoming a subject matter expert capable of diagnosing, configuring, repairing, and documenting solutions.

  • Skilled at providing specific, high-value recommendations related to platform design, automation, security, features, and manageability.

  • Highly self-motivated, accountable, and dependable—owning problems end-to-end.

  • Passionate about technology, continuously researching emerging tools and approaches.

  • Comfortable diving into unfamiliar technologies, learning quickly, and applying new knowledge.

  • Resilient, optimistic, resourceful, and able to navigate ambiguity with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Adaptable and able to maintain perspective even as priorities shift.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles focused on AWS and GCP.

  • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, automated cloud services across multiple regions and zones.

  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and service mesh technologies.

  • Strong background building, maintaining, and optimizing observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing).

  • Experience implementing centralized logging pipelines for aggregation and storage of multi-source logs.

  • Expertise in on-call operations, incident response, troubleshooting, and system administration.

  • Proficiency with Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Helm, Flux/ArgoCD, Istio.

  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or TypeScript.

  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD ecosystems such as GitHub/GH Actions, Jenkins, JFrog, VMware, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including designing HA systems and writing/debugging complex queries.

  • Experience with distributed architectures and CI/CD best practices.

  • Telephony infrastructure experience is a plus.
