We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Architect to join Kyivstar.Tech team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud infrastructure, with a deep understanding of AWS (Amazon Web Services) and VMware Cloud Foundation. Lead the design and implementation of AWS and VMware Cloud Foundation-based cloud infrastructures, ensuring they align with business goals and security requirements

Oversee the management, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources across multiple environments (production, staging, and development)

Develop and drive cloud adoption strategies for the organization, ensuring a smooth and cost-effective migration from on-premises to the cloud

Provide expert-level consultation and architecture guidance on cloud infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring the best practices are followed

Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or VMware Aria Automation

Drive the automation of deployment pipelines and cloud operations

Implement cost optimization strategies by optimizing cloud resources, recommending efficient architectures, and ensuring resource utilization

Implement robust security controls, policies, and best practices for cloud environments

Ensure cloud solutions are compliant with industry standards and regulations

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver cloud-based solutions that meet organizational needs

Mentor developers and DevOps's and provide guidance to other teams on cloud technologies, best practices, and tools

Qualifications and experience needed

Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years working in cloud architecture and administration (AWS, VMware)

Experience managing applications in hybrid cloud environments (AWS and VMware)

Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or VMware Aria Automation

Extensive experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Cloud on AWS

Good understanding of Data Security on Cloud-based applications

Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, load balancing) and cloud security best practices (IAM, security groups, encryption, etc.)

Experience in building CI/CD pipelines for large scale application on AWS and on-premises

Background in redefining the applications into cloud native environments

Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Effective verbal and written communication

Strong presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Conversational English level (B2+)

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed
