Senior Clinical Training Specialist

AI overview

Lead the operational success of new hire training in clinical settings, ensuring clinicians achieve proficiency through high-impact training and strategic consultation.
The Senior Clinical Training Specialist serves as the Service Line Lead and primary program owner for a designated clinical vertical (either Virtual Care or Population Health). In this high-impact role, you are responsible for the end-to-end operational success of new hire cohorts, ensuring that clinicians achieve "Speed to Proficiency" through rigorous, high-quality training. You will act as the "Architect" of the learning journey. While you will partner with the Clinical Training Specialist (Instructional Design) to build digital assets and the CKE Associate to maintain documentation, you own the classroom. Your focus is on high-stakes facilitation (clinical simulations, decision-making workshops) and strategic consultation with Clinical Leaders and Clinical Quality to ensure our training programs evolve at the speed of the business. Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Line Leadership & Program Ownership:
  • Cohort Management: Own the operational rhythm of new hire training for your assigned service line. Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires from Day 1 through transition to production.
  • Stakeholder Consulting: Act as the primary training consultant for Clinical Directors and Quality Leads. Analyze performance data (QA scores, productivity) to proactively recommend curriculum adjustments (Acute vs. Standard maintenance). Curriculum Architecture: Conduct Training Needs Analysis for new requests. Design the "blueprint" for learning programs, determining the optimal blend of live instruction vs. asynchronous modules to be built by the ID Specialist.
  • High-Impact Facilitation:
  • Clinical Simulation: Lead complex, synchronous sessions focused on clinical judgment, empathy, and workflow decision-making (e.g., "Day 2 Clinical Detective," "Care Plan Workshops," "Mock Calls").
  • Mentorship: Assess learner clinical acumen in real-time. Provide direct, actionable feedback to hiring managers regarding learner readiness and areas of concern. Surge & Cross-Coverage: Maintain cross-functional proficiency to serve as a Backup Facilitator for the opposing service line (e.g., Pop Health Lead covering Virtual Care breakout rooms) during designated "Surge" hiring windows.
  • Quality & Content Governance:
  • SME Validation: Serve as the "Accountable" party for content accuracy. Review and validate all learning assets created by the ID Specialist and documentation updated by the CKE Associate to ensure strict clinical adherence. Continuous Improvement: Champion a "Spirit of Curiosity." Regularly audit your curriculum against live production realities to ensure training never drifts from the actual job requirements.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Clinical: RN/BSN or equivalent clinical degree with active, unrestricted license required.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • 2+ years of formal training, facilitation, or clinical education experience.
  • Facilitation Skills: Expert-level virtual facilitation skills (Zoom/Google Meet). Ability to manage engagement, grade simulations, and lead "train-the-trainer" sessions for complex clinical topics.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret data (satisfaction scores, QA metrics) and translate them into actionable training improvements.
  • Agility: Ability to thrive in a high-volume, "Surge" environment, switching contexts between deep clinical teaching and operational program management.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Instructional Design frameworks (ADDIE, SAM) to effectively direct the build work of others.
  • Familiarity with Articulate Rise/Storyline (enough to perform basic edits or content reviews).
  • Experience in Telehealth, Virtual Care, or Case Management workflows
