Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Chief Architect / Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation medical imaging visualization platforms integrated with Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities.
This role blends deep hands-on engineering, system architecture ownership, and technical leadership across enterprise-scale RIS, PACS, VNA, and AI-driven clinical applications. The ideal candidate will shape the long-term technical vision while remaining actively involved in critical design and code decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
Define and own the end-to-end architecture for:
Medical imaging viewers (2D, 3D, MPR, MIP, Volume Rendering)
Enterprise imaging platforms (RIS–PACS–VNA)
AI/GenAI-enabled clinical and operational workflows
Drive cloud-native, scalable, and secure architectures supporting high-volume imaging workloads.
Establish architectural standards, reference designs, and technology roadmaps.
2. Medical Imaging Visualization
Architect and optimize high-performance image rendering pipelines for:
DICOM (CT, MR, XA, US, NM, MG)
Non-DICOM content (PDFs, JPEG/PNG, Video, Waveforms)
Lead design of advanced visualization features:
3D/4D rendering, cine, segmentation overlays
AI annotations (GSPS, structured results)
Web-based zero-footprint viewers (HTML5/WebGL/WebGPU)
Ensure compliance with DICOM, IHE, HL7/FHIR, and regulatory requirements.
3. GenAI & Agentic AI Integration
Design and implement GenAI-powered capabilities, including:
Imaging study summarization and insights
Clinical decision support (assistive, not diagnostic)
Workflow automation and intelligent orchestration
Architect LLM-based systems with:
RAG pipelines over imaging metadata, reports, and clinical context
Multi-agent workflows for triage, QA, and reporting assistance
Ensure AI safety, explainability, governance, and auditability.
4. Platform Engineering & Scalability
Lead architecture for microservices and event-driven systems handling:
Millions of studies
Petabyte-scale storage
Low-latency viewer performance
Drive performance optimization across:
Rendering
Image streaming
AI inference pipelines
Partner with DevOps to design CI/CD, observability, and reliability strategies.
5. Security, Privacy & Compliance
Ensure solutions meet HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and healthcare security best practices.
Design data isolation, encryption, access control, and audit logging for imaging and AI systems.
Lead threat modeling and architecture reviews for AI and imaging pipelines.
6. Mentorship & Cross-Functional Leadership
Mentor senior engineers, architects, and AI researchers.
Act as the technical authority in architecture reviews and critical escalations.
Collaborate closely with Product, Clinical SMEs, Regulatory, and Executive stakeholders.
Translate clinical and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
What Success Looks Like
A future-proof imaging and AI architecture that scales globally.
Seamless integration of visualization, AI insights, and workflows.
High-performance, clinician-friendly viewers adopted across enterprises.
Engineering teams aligned around clear architectural principles and execution excellence.
