Senior Business Intelligence Analyst - Marketing

Take ownership of the reporting infrastructure for Marketing Analytics and enhance attribution models while bridging raw data with advanced data science techniques.
Who we are:  Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us. We believe everyone deserves the unconditional love of a pet—and at Rover, our mission is to make it easier to experience that love. Founded in 2011, the Rover app and website connect dog and cat parents with loving pet sitters and dog walkers in neighborhoods across the US, Canada, and Europe. We empower our community of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers to run their own pet care businesses on Rover with the tools and security of a global company to back them. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, we work closely with our teams in Barcelona, San Antonio, Spokane, and remote locations. We’ve got a reputation for being a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. We're an agile, fast-growing company, and our leadership comes from some of the world's most respected tech companies.  At Rover, our furry coworkers are just as important as our human ones—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Along with making the joys of pet parenthood more accessible, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community of pet people—and that starts with our employees. Who We're Looking For We're looking for a technically-minded Senior Analyst who loves the intersection of Data Modeling and Marketing Strategy. You are someone who isn't satisfied with just "pulling numbers"—you want to understand and architect the underlying logic that makes those numbers true. In this role, you will be the technical backbone of the Marketing Analytics team. You will take ownership of our reporting infrastructure, driving the transition from legacy reports to clean, automated insights. You will act as the bridge between raw data and advanced Data Science, ensuring our data models are robust enough to support rigorous analytics and experimentation. You will also serve as the subject matter expert for one of our most complex domains: Attribution. You will navigate our datasets to refine and maintain our logic—helping us distinguish between actions that lead to account creation versus those that drive repeat bookings—ensuring our Lifecycle and Acquisition stakeholders have a reliable view of their impact. This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Barcelona Office in the Poblenou neighborhood two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in Barcelona or willing to relocate. 🎉 Your Impact:
  • Own Marketing Attribution: Serve as the custodian of our attribution logic. You will maintain and refine our models to ensure the business understands how provider and owner strategies compound to drive New and Repeat bookings, constantly looking for ways to improve our measurement accuracy.
  • Architect the Reporting Suite: Tackle technical debt head-on by modernizing our reporting infrastructure. You will own the migration of critical business reports to our BI tools, designing clean, SQL-heavy calculations that serve as the "single source of truth" for Lifecycle Marketing and leadership.
  • Scale Experimentation Operations: Unblock the team on testing by operationalizing our experimentation framework. You will manage the transition to new tools (like Statsig), create SQL templates for test analysis, and conduct code reviews to ensure statistical rigor across the team.
  • Enable Advanced Analytics: Partner with our Data Scientists to perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and build robust data models. By ensuring our data foundation is solid, you will free up the team to focus on high-impact predictive modeling (LTV, Churn) and strategic deep dives.
  • 🙌 Your Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in Analytics or Analytics Engineering, with a specific focus on Marketing or Growth data.
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency. You don't just write queries; you write performant, readable code for complex data modeling, window functions, and heavy calculations within BI tools.
  • Deep understanding of Marketing Attribution logic. You have experience building, interpreting, or maintaining models that track user journeys across multiple touchpoints (Acquisition vs. Retention/Repeat).
  • Experience with Data Modeling and creating "Gold Layer" datasets that allow other analysts and stakeholders to self-serve easily.
  • Strong knowledge of experimentation logic. You understand how to set up data structures to track control vs. variant groups and check for sample ratio mismatches.
  • Proven ability to manage technical projects from end-to-end, such as migrating reports between tools or auditing tracking setups.
  • Communication skills that allow you to translate complex data engineering concepts into benefits for non-technical marketing stakeholders.
  • 💪 Nice to Have:
  • Experience with code-first BI tools (e.g. Mode, Looker, Tableau) where SQL is the primary driver of analysis.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms like Statsig.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Iterable), Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), and how their data flows into a warehouse.
  • Background in a two-sided marketplace.
  • 🐶 Benefits of working at Rover:
  • Long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout
  • Pension plan
  • Private medical insurance
