Responsibilities:
- Translate business and data governance strategies into technical requirements for implementation.
- Collaborate with engineering and program management teams to align on data governance frameworks, roadmaps, and milestones.
- Prioritize data governance initiatives in an agile environment, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Work with stakeholders across business, IT, legal, and compliance to obtain approvals for data governance policies.
- Document data flows, governance models, and related processes.
- Create JIRA User Stories, BRDs, and other artifacts based on stakeholder feedback.
- Present progress to executives and senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with governance objectives.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure changes adhere to policies and regulations.
- Analyze and improve existing governance frameworks, identifying changes needed for better business alignment.
- Assist with testing governance solutions to ensure compliance and business requirements are met.
- Provide input on data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure governance policies support compliance efforts.
- Work with metadata management and data cataloging tools to enhance data discoverability and governance.
Requirements:
- Experience in data governance, business analysis, or data management projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., data ownership, metadata management, data quality, regulatory compliance).
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), Data Lineage, and Data Privacy best practices.
- Experience working with data models, data flows, and business process mapping.
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL and relational databases to support data governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with data warehouses and cloud platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ability to define governance policies and workflows that align with business needs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business teams.
- Agile mindset, ability to translate governance requirements into tangible actions.
- Experience in working with data cataloging and metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) is a plus.
