Senior Business Analyst - Core Mobile Apps Platform

About the Team

Our Core Mobile Apps Platform team is responsible for the core architecture, infrastructure, operational practices and design capabilities that enable our Candidate Domain teams to deliver high quality mobile experiences for our SEEK, Jobsdb, and Jobstreet mobile apps.  

Our ambition is to deliver world class apps that delight our candidates by enabling teams to build consistent, beautiful, reliable, and secure apps at scale. The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst for the iOS team within Core Apps, you will lead complex business analysis and iteration management to drive successful initiative outcomes. Your primary focus will be on crafting detailed documentation of intricate requirements, facilitating high-level stakeholder communication, and identifying key process optimization opportunities that align with broader business objectives. Additionally, you may serve as the primary liaison for cross-platform initiatives spanning both iOS and Android ecosystems, ensuring cohesive platform development and seamless user experiences.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and designers, you will lead iterative development and refinement processes to enhance overall project delivery. Your role involves managing risk, supporting seamless solution implementation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that deliver significant business value. You will be responsible for bridging business requirements with technical implementation for the iOS platform, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.

Your role focuses on delivering successful outcomes by guiding teams through requirement elicitation, analysis, and solution design while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. You will foster innovation and contribute to strategic business success across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

The following are key responsibilities the position will be accountable for on a day-to-day basis:

• Engage with key stakeholders to establish initiative scope, objectives, and deliverables, and contribute to validating requirements and gathering feedback throughout the lifecycle.
• Manage and coordinate the gathering and documentation of complex business requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate the analysis and prioritization of requirements to identify critical objectives, scope, and dependencies, ensuring they are traceable and aligned with business value and objectives.
• Develop and document current (as is) and future (to-be) state business processes to support business transformation initiatives.
• Support in solution design based on business requirements while assessing and validating proposed solutions to ensure they address stakeholder needs and deliver measurable value.
• Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems or processes.
• Identify and assess risks associated with initiatives, such as technical risks, operational risks, and market risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop test cases, support in testing and verifying solutions to ensure they meet requirements and quality standards as needed.
• Contribute to and lead iteration planning and backlog refinement, monitor and track progress to ensure smooth and effective delivery of initiative deliverables.
• Conduct iteration reviews and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement, enhancing project delivery and team performance.
• Facilitate collaborative workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to enhance communication, alignment, and decision-making among stakeholders.
• Share best practices, lessons learned, and insights gained from initiatives to support the team's learning and their professional development.
• Participate and contribute to various communities within SEEK to promote best practices and collaboration.
• Coach and mentor junior team members to support their growth and enhance
team skills.
• Participate in communication with third-party vendors and suppliers as needed, ensuring compliance with SLAs and assisting in resolving any related issues.
• Support the recruitment and onboarding of new hires as needed.

• Extensive experience in leading business analysis efforts and developing comprehensive documentation.
• Expertise in leading multiple iterations, ensuring smooth project delivery and continuous improvement.
• Strong skills in managing relationships with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, alignment, and expectation management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, adept at leading workshops and high-level stakeholder discussions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to think creatively and introduce innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Deep expertise in using Agile methodologies, driving best practices for execution.
• Expertise in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SQL) and business process modelling techniques and tools.
• Good understanding of project management principles and experience in managing initiative tasks and timelines.
• Proven ability to identify and manage risks in complex initiatives, with experience in risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience in supporting change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new systems or processes.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and contribute to collaborative tasks.

• Expertise in managing stakeholder expectations and resolving conflicts in high-stakes environments.
• Expertise in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder dynamics and conflicts.
• Experience in managing large, complex initiatives with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide change management efforts and
transformation initiatives.
