As part of our ambitious plans to expand our reach and impact, we’re establishing a new Senior Brand and Design Manager role to develop and implement our brand strategy. 

In this role, you will be responsible for the visual representation of the Foundation’s brand strategy and the successful delivery of all the Foundation’s visual design. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced brand or design manager who has the management skills needed to support a creative team. 

With a background in design, you will be passionate about creative and brand management, have an eye for design detail, and be able to lead, develop, and inspire our team of in-house designers. Working on the Foundation brand and all our sub-brands, you’ll enjoy the breadth of work and will strive for creative excellence across all our outputs. 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop creative at both a strategic and tactical level. You will lead on design direction and you’ll relish opportunities to roll up your sleeves as the senior designer to work on implementation. You will be comfortable overseeing the visual design of everything from publications to event stands, and social media assets to merchandise. You’ll also enjoy brand management across digital products and be comfortable contributing to web design systems. You will be responsive to different audience needs and keen to evaluate what works well and how to improve design content.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will work alongside our Marketing Managers, Digital Product Designers, and the media studio team. You will manage an in-house team of designers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Foundation’s brand strategy. 
  • Manage the Foundation’s visual identity, and that of its sub-brands, to ensure brand strength and consistency across products, platforms, and markets.
  • Elevate the Foundation’s design outputs, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality, usability, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Manage the in-house design team and support their development, as well as managing external freelancers and agencies as necessary. Create an environment that stimulates and encourages the creative process and fosters a collaborative and high-performing team culture. 
  • Work closely with the marketing, media studio, and product design teams to ensure the brand is well understood and design is successfully integrated across the organisation. 
  • Manage and develop the Foundation’s brand guidelines, establishing clear visual design principles that ensure consistency and quality across all design outputs. 
  • Support external partners and community members around the world to apply the Foundation’s brand.
  • Develop exceptional ways to tell our brand story through design that engage audiences in our brand and products.
  • Project manage, plan, and prioritise design requests and resources in line with the Foundation's priorities and business plan, and provide excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging design trends, technologies, and market dynamics to inform design decisions and innovation, particularly in AI.
  • Manage all branded merchandise, ensuring it’s of the highest design quality, ethically sourced, environmentally friendly, and sustainable.

  • Senior design/brand manager with significant experience of managing a team and producing creative content at an exceptional standard.
  • Experience in leading and delivering successful design projects across various platforms and media. 
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team of designers and create highly collaborative teams.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, visual design skills, a talent for storytelling, seamless production management, and commercial acumen.
  • Mastery of industry-standard design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Ability to clearly articulate brand concepts and rationale to all audiences. 
  • Experience of digital asset management and expertise in storage best practices.
