About the Role

The Building Information Modeling Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor within Fluidstack’s Design and Engineering team, reporting to the BIM and Automation Manager. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) project environments and the production of Revit models across an active portfolio of hyperscale data center developments.

This is a modeling-forward role. You will create, maintain, and quality-control BIM deliverables for new design activities, from early massing and site coordination through construction-level coordination sets and prefabricated assembly packages. You will also support the broader team’s push to standardize BIM workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and raise the bar for model quality and data integrity across all active projects.

As Fluidstack moves toward prefabrication-first delivery across mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, you will model complex prefabricated assemblies to fabrication-ready accuracy and interface directly with manufacturers and off-site fabricators. You will translate shop drawings and BOMs into coordinated Revit models, validate dimensional interfaces and installation clearances, and ensure prefabricated components integrate cleanly with the base-build design before fabrication is released.

You will work closely with civil, structural, MEP, and ICT discipline leads, external design consultants, and general contractors to ensure models remain accurate, coordinated, and useful at every stage of project delivery.

Responsibilities

Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Administration

  • Set up and maintain ACC project environments across all active developments, including folder structures, permission groups, naming conventions, transmittal workflows, and model publishing schedules

  • Onboard consultants and GC partners; manage access rights, drawing registers, submittal logs, and RFI linkage; keep model versions current and traceable across project teams

  • Monitor and resolve sync issues and coordination conflicts; support integration with Navisworks, Revit, Power BI, and downstream automation pipelines

Revit Modeling & Design Production

  • Produce and maintain Revit models for new design activities across all stages—site layout, building massing, structural, MEP, and ICT infrastructure—from early concept through IFC-level detail

  • Generate construction drawings, plan sheets, sections, and 3D views for permit submissions, consultant coordination, and GC packages; manage worksets, shared coordinates, and linked files

  • Incorporate point cloud and reality capture data into models; support quantity takeoffs and material schedule extraction

Prefabricated & Modular Systems Modeling

  • Model prefabricated assemblies to LOD 400 accuracy—structural skids, MEP modules, electrical packages—and develop parametric Revit families capturing geometry, connection interfaces, lifting points, and maintenance clearances for portfolio reuse

  • Coordinate with manufacturers and fabricators to translate shop drawings and BOMs into federated models; validate dimensional tolerances and clash-free interfaces between prefab modules and the base-build structure before fabrication is released

  • Produce installation sequencing views, assembly instructions, and spool drawings; maintain a growing library of approved prefab components to reduce modeling effort on repeat project types

Clash Detection & Multi-Discipline Coordination

  • Run federated clash detection in Navisworks or ACC Coordination; lead coordination meetings with MEP, structural, civil, and ICT teams; maintain issue logs and ensure model updates reflect resolved clashes prior to drawing issue

  • Support GC BIM teams during construction for field coordination, 4D sequencing, and layout workflows

BIM Standards, Templates & Quality Control

  • Develop and maintain Revit project templates, family libraries, shared parameter files, and drafting standards; author and enforce BIM Execution Plans defining LOD, file exchange protocols, and naming conventions

  • Conduct model audits and QA reviews; develop data-rich families to support automated schedule extraction, equipment tagging, and downstream digital twin integration

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Develop Dynamo scripts and Revit macros to automate modeling tasks, enforce standards, and extract data from models; document tools for team maintainability

  • Identify workflow efficiencies in drawing production and data extraction; contribute to the broader automation roadmap with the BIM and Automation Manager

Construction & Closeout Support

  • Review contractor BIM submissions for BEP compliance; support field teams with model-based layout and as-built mark-up workflows within ACC

  • Manage as-built updates, capture construction deviations in the record model, and produce final closeout deliverables including COBie data exports and digital handover packages

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Architecture, Engineering (any discipline), Construction Management, or equivalent technical field

  • 4+ years of hands-on BIM production experience, with a strong Revit modeling portfolio across multiple building types or infrastructure projects

  • Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC): project setup, document management, issues, model coordination, and transmittals

  • Demonstrable experience producing IFC-quality Revit models including drawings, sheets, schedules, and coordination views

  • Familiarity with Navisworks Manage for clash detection, model federation, and coordination reporting

  • Experience developing and enforcing BIM Execution Plans, LOD requirements, and model QA processes

  • Working knowledge of Dynamo or equivalent parametric/scripting tools for modeling automation

  • Strong understanding of multi-discipline coordination workflows across architectural, structural, MEP, and civil scopes

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the US (estimated 10–20%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on data center, industrial, or mission-critical facility projects

  • Experience modeling complex prefabricated and modular assemblies to fabrication-ready accuracy (LOD 400), including structural skids, MEP modules, and electrical prefab packages, ideally in a manufacturing or off-site fabrication context

  • Familiarity with FM Global site and building requirements as they relate to model data and documentation

  • Experience with SolidWorks

  • Experience with point cloud processing and integration of reality capture data into Revit (e.g., Leica, FARO, ReCap)

  • Exposure to 4D construction sequencing and model-based scheduling tools

  • Knowledge of COBie data standards and digital handover / asset management workflows

  • Experience with Power BI, Forge/APS, or other data visualization and API integration tools connected to Autodesk platforms

  • Familiarity with Revit MEP or Revit Structure modeling in addition to Revit Architecture

  • Owner/developer-side BIM experience, managing external consultants rather than working as a consultant

  • Exposure to digital twin platforms (e.g., Autodesk Tandem, IBM Maximo, or similar) and the data requirements to feed them

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).

  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
