Senior Backend/Platform Engineer (Java)

Join our Automotive team and help shape the platform powering next-generation digital mobility solutions. As a Senior Backend/Platform Engineer, you’ll design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems that support millions of users and complex automotive ecosystems. What you will be doing

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver valuable product increments
• Design and implement high-quality, production-ready Java services following established engineering standards and best practices
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions, shaping the evolution of our backend and platform capabilities
• Own the production operation and monitoring of the systems
• Operate and improve systems running in cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes)
• Continuously improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability of our platform
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure configuration where relevant to backend services
• Proactively mentor team members and support their technical growth

What we are looking for:

• Fluent in English for both written and spoken communication
• 6+ years of experience developing backend systems in Java
• 4+ years of experience with Spring Boot
• Strong grounding in Computer Science: data structures, algorithms, mathematics.
• Solid experience building and operating distributed systems and messaging solutions
• Fluency with automated testing (unit, integration) and CI/CD practices
• Hands-on experience working with cloud environments (preferably AWS)
• Practical experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Comfortable owning services in production, including monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning
• Ability to navigate complex technical challenges and break them down into pragmatic solutions
• Eagerness to understand business context and align technical decisions with product goals

• Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Messaging systems such as Kafka
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Improving developer productivity and platform tooling
