Strong backend engineering skills with experience with client’s tech stack (Kotlin preferred, Go/Python valuable), nice to have: previous experience in Search/Ranking domains, particularly with Solr, ElasticSearch, or any related search technologies

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Client's talented Search team.

As a key member of their technology division, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing their search algorithms to enhance the user experience and ensure the accuracy and relevance of search results.

In addition, we are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience in working with multi-stakeholder environments and handling high-demanding, data-intensive products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Playing an integral role within a dynamic team, solidifying your and your team's technical prowess to establish credibility
• Fostering a culture of innovation, actively encouraging the conception, creation, implementation, and deployment of sophisticated scalable solutions
• Posing thoughtful questions, participating in brainstorming sessions, and taking ownership of the product development process to foster a collaborative environment
• Experimenting with novel machine learning approaches to push the boundaries of search capabilities
• Collaborating closely with the product management team, ensuring alignment to construct the optimal product that resonates with and benefits our users
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks through meticulous profiling, monitoring, and optimization of the search infrastructure for high-speed and low-latency responses
• Spearheading initiatives to enhance search quality through continuous refinement of query understanding mechanisms, and relevance models

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Kotlin, showcasing a strong understanding of its core principles and capabilities. This includes the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while effectively utilizing Kotlin's features.
• Expertise in Go or Python, showcasing a deep comprehension of programming paradigms along with the skill to produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code in these widely-used languages.
• Experience with Solr, ElasticSearch, or similar search technologies that empower powerful indexing and searching capabilities, allowing you to create robust search functionalities within our applications.
