Senior Backend Engineer (Python + Kubernetes)

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a deep-tech project developing AI-driven simulation software for advanced engineering and manufacturing industries.
The goal of this project is to accelerate hardware innovation through intelligent, high-fidelity simulations — enabling engineers to design, optimize, and manufacture products faster and smarter across domains like aerospace, energy, and automotive.

This role is ideal for a self-driven and proactive engineer who thrives in an evolving environment where not everything is structured or predefined. You’ll work with a small, talented team on complex technical challenges, take full ownership of your deliverables, and have the freedom to shape solutions from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI, REST API).
• Build, containerize, and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement GitOps workflows and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, AI/ML, and cloud engineers to integrate components smoothly.
• Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and scalable in AWS cloud environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code — and proactively suggest improvements across the stack.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python, including FastAPI and REST API development.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).
• Familiarity with GitOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployments (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, testing, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A self-sufficient, proactive mindset — comfortable working in a fast-moving, less-structured startup environment where documentation is still evolving.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with 3D geometry data or computational simulation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure security and best practices in DevOps.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL (not required but useful).
• Exposure to AI/ML or numerical simulation environments.
