Responsibilities

Design and implement automation solutions that improve developer productivity and system reliability
Build and maintain shared platform services, libraries, and infrastructure components
Develop integration patterns and tooling for connecting internal systems and third-party services
Collaborate with product engineering teams to provide architectural guidance and technical consultation
Implement and maintain contract testing frameworks to minimize integration errors across services
Work with authentication and identity systems (SSO, SAML, OAuth) across multiple platforms
Contribute to event-driven architectures using message buses and async patterns
Create technical documentation, architectural decision records, and integration guides
Participate in code reviews and help establish engineering standards and best practices

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a senior or platform-focused role
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Ruby, Python(preferred), others accepted: Node.js, and Go).
Good level of experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS)
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation
Familiarity with message queues and event-driven patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams

Nice to have:

Experience with contract testing tools (Pact, Open, or similar)
Background in healthcare technology or familiarity with HIPAA/HiTrust compliance
Experience with identity federation (SAML, Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS Cognito)
Exposure to WebSocket implementations and real-time data systems
Experience creating internal developer tools, SDKs, or shared libraries
SQL, GraphQL
