The Role

The Product Engineering team is looking for a (Senior) Backend engineer to drive meaningful impact for our customers. You will own the design, implementation, and operation of key platform features. We are looking for self motivated individuals from all backgrounds, who are prepared to take on the challenges and opportunities that come from working in a fast paced, early stage startup. Success in this role will lead to increased responsibility and leadership opportunities as Momos continues to scale.

Primary Role & Responsibilities

• Build powerful web applications using NodeJS (mainly), Python.
• Contribute to technical architecture design for our new products and enhancements to current products.
• Collaborate closely with other software engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Help other engineers on the team via mentorship, code pairs and code reviews.
• Hustle - plain and simple.

Requirements

Ideal Background

• 3+ years of experience building and operating backend systems on a modern web stack.
• Strong experience in backend development with at least one mainstream server-side language.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Experience working with event-driven or data-intensive systems handling high data volumes.
• Familiarity with analytics-focused data storage and large-scale querying.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructure and scalable deployment models.
• Experience building systems with scalability, availability, and reliability in mind.
• Good communication skills and English proficiency for working with global teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data integration from multiple external sources.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration or long-running backend processes.
• Experience with observability and testing in production systems.
• Experience applying AI-powered features in real-world products.
• Background in marketing, analytics, or consumer-facing platforms.
• Interest in open-source technologies and communities.
