With continued growth across Connor Consulting and its global client base, we are seeking a Senior Associate – Software Publisher Services to support and manage software license compliance engagements within our Software Publisher Services practice. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong hands-on expertise in software license compliance (with a focus on Red Hat), data analysis, and audit support.

 

Senior Associates play a critical role in executing compliance projects, conducting detailed license reconciliations, collaborating closely with client teams, and supporting audit defense and optimization initiatives to ensure compliance and cost savings.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute software license compliance projects from planning through reporting, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Conduct detailed license reconciliations, entitlement reviews, and Effective License Position (ELP) analysis.
  • Support software publisher–led compliance reviews and audits, including Red Hat software license compliance engagements.
  • Analyze deployment and usage data to identify compliance gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders across SAM, IT, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to validate findings and drive outcomes.
  • Interpret complex licensing terms, product use rights, and publisher-specific licensing metrics.
  • Perform advanced Excel-based data analysis, working with large and complex datasets.
  • Support optimization and remediation initiatives to deliver measurable cost savings and compliance alignment.
  • Leverage outputs from SAM tools (e.g., Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow Asset Management) to validate data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare clear, well-structured client deliverables, including compliance findings, audit support documentation, and recommendations.
  • Manage engagement timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure high-quality, on-time execution.
  • Stay current on evolving software publisher licensing models, including subscription, cloud, and hybrid environments.

 

Requirements: Experience, Skills, and Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software license compliance, Software Publisher Services, SAM, or audit support.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CSAM, ITIL, ISO 19770, or similar are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Red Hat software license compliance audits or publisher-led reviews.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing metrics, entitlement models, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with SAM tools and inventory data sources.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex data analysis).
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex licensing terms and contractual language.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, client-facing environments and managing multiple projects.
