ROLE DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Head of Relationship Management, the Senior Associate, Relationship Management enables our sales, business development, investor relations and marketing functions to strengthen our relationships with clients and prospective clients. The work is varied, involving both preparatory ‘back end’ work to build business development infrastructure (creating presentation materials, developing RFP responses, managing the CRM, project managing events and webinars) and ‘front end’, client-facing work (like representing the firm at industry events, prospecting and sales calls and meetings, delivering webinars and presentations). This role represents an expansion of the Relationship Management team, to match growing business opportunities. This is a great job for a Toronto-based, experienced relationship manager who is excited to grow alongside us and help a small team continue to do big things.

PRIMARY DUTIES

The role will split time between cross-team functions where you will build the firm’s business development infrastructure and external-facing work where you will strengthen our relationship with current and prospective clients and sector players.

The cross-team support functions will focus on building the firm’s business development infrastructure:

  • RFP and DDQ Response: End-to-end project management of RFP and DDQ responses for investment management mandates including maintaining an up-to-date bank of responses and data pulls, assembling and tailoring responses to align with specific mandates, coordinating review cycles, and collaborating with subject matter experts to develop net-new responses and data visualizations.
  • CRM Management: Management of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software tools to ensure effective relationship stewardship across all teams. This includes consistent process application, prompt and accurate logging of organizational contacts and meeting notes, reminder and outreach automation.
  • Research and Strategy: Informing our product development and go-to-market strategy by conducting ongoing, iterative research on market and competitive dynamics, and investor segments to continuously refine our unique value proposition and product-market fit.
  • Content Creation: Working with subject matter experts, building high quality materials for sales, marketing and business development purposes, including for pitch decks/presentations, webinars, blog posts, white papers, and covering diverse topics including product information, organizational overviews, market intelligence and educational content.

The external facing work will focus on building and stewarding direct relationships with clients and prospective clients:

  • Sales Research and Prospecting: Conducting research and relationship mapping on prospective clients to originate opportunities, conduct cold and warm outreach via email, phone and LinkedIn, and increase effectiveness of sales and business development meetings.
  • Meetings and Presentations: Conducting meetings with prospective clients and partners, including both informal, exploratory meetings and formal ‘pitch’ presentations.
  • Event Management: End-to-end project management for convening in-person events and virtual webinars/info sessions including aligning with subject matter experts on topic, developing presentation materials, curating guest list, recruiting guest speakers, building and executing marketing strategy and day-of operational plan.
  • Event Attendance: Representing the firm at in-person and virtual events at relevant forums including ‘traditional’ investment and impact investment-focused convenings.
