ABOUT THE ROLE
The Lead Accreditation and Quality Assurance is a position of mid-managerial responsibility whereby they will report to the Director Accreditation and Quality Assurance on the overall quality assurance and licensing of one or more ALU institutions as assigned under their portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Institutional Effectiveness and Efficiency
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage and administer the administrative aspects of all the Quality Assurance Office,
- Lead the organisation of workshops and training sessions on quality improvement methodologies and tools.
Prestige and Professional Accreditations
- To collaborate and manage the timely operations with regard to regulatory , prestige and professional accreditations.
- To collaborate and manage the time operations in relation to internal quality assurance systems and standards development.
Stakeholder Engagement and Support
- Lead academic departments, BUs and student services regarding the operational aspects of quality assurance projects and objectives.
- Act as a point of contact for project implementation queries providing guidance and support to academic units on timelines and progress on quality assurance projects..
- Members of committees and working groups focused on quality assurance and academic governance.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring sustainable outcomes.
Planning and Leadership Development
- Assist the Director in developing strategies for the operational management of the Quality Assurance office, identifying opportunities to plan and execute projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
Education
- An undergraduate Honours qualification from a recognised university in any field.
Experience
- 4-7 years minimum experience in a Project-operations/Management consulting environment where operations focus was in Tertiary Education-ops, including quality management and regulatory operations/engagement.
- Understanding & hands-on experience in the Operations-management of Tertiary-ed Accreditation
- projects(multi-year) i.e NECHE; qualifications-accreditation; Partner-institution collaborations etc.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to understand quality assurance -related processes and projects
- Proficiency in managing quality assurance projects, from planning through execution and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and ensuring timely outcomes of projects and operation.
- Ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with various stakeholders across the university.
- Open to evolving responsibilities, especially in preparation for transitioning into a Lead role.
