Core Details and Responsibilities 

This role is based in our Cape Town office. As Senior Associate, you will report to the Chief Strategy Officer. From a high-level perspective, the core responsibilities that form your role are broken down into the following 8 categories:

Your Daily Tasks

The Senior Associate – Marketing will support the Chief Strategy Officer across a wide range of marketing and strategic initiatives. This role combines strategic input with hands-on execution, spanning digital marketing, content development, events, analytics, and brand delivery.  The Senior Associate – Marketing will be highly organised, comfortable balancing multiple priorities, and able to bring both structure and creativity to their work. A strong foundation in digital marketing and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Tag Manager) is essential.



1. Strategy & Project Support:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Support the CSO in managing and progressing marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Help prioritise and structure workloads across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to keep campaigns and deliverables on track.
  • Maintain shared calendars, timelines, and campaign planning documentation.

 

2. Digital Marketing & Analytics:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Maintain and update website content (via CMS) to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Assist with SEO-related tasks, including metadata updates, keyword tracking, and agency liaison.
  • Support setup, execution, and monitoring of digital campaigns (Google Ads, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Configure and monitor tracking and reporting tools (Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console).
  • Prepare basic dashboards and summaries for internal reporting.

 

3. Content Development & Coordination:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Draft and edit marketing content: social posts, email campaigns, web copy, brochures, thought leadership, and internal communications.
  • Review and refine content for accuracy, tone, and brand alignment.
  • Support client-facing teams with presentation decks, proposals, and pitch materials.
  • Coordinate contributions from subject matter experts to deliver polished outputs
  • Maintain and update content calendars to ensure campaign alignment.
  • Liaise with design and compliance resources to finalise content for distribution.

 

4. Events & Activations:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Assist in planning and delivering marketing-led events, sponsorships, and activations.
  • Coordinate event logistics: venues, vendors, collateral, and timelines.
  • Support pre-event activities (registrations, RSVP tracking, briefing packs).
  • Assist with on-site or virtual delivery (setup, signage, branded assets).
  • Manage post-event follow-ups, communications, and performance reporting.

 

5. Brand & Materials:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Ensure consistent application of brand standards across all marketing assets.
  • Collaborate with design resources to brief and finalise visual materials.
  • Maintain an organised library of brand templates and collateral.

 

6. CRM & Marketing Systems:

Include but not limited to the following tasks:

  1. Support implementation and management of the firm’s CRM and marketing automation systems.
  2. Partner with business development and operations teams on workflows, segmentation, and reporting needs.
  3. Assist with list management, email workflows, dashboards, and user guidance.
  4. Leverage prior CRM experience to support rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement.

 

7. Risk and Compliance Responsibilities:

These responsibilities include the representation to the company’s Risk and Compliance perspective and include (but not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Governance Framework – Adherence to the governance framework and ensure cohesiveness across all teams, offices, and service lines.
  • Quality Control – Adhere to change controls and internal quality assurance
  • Compliance Culture - Working in tandem with the groups Head of Compliance and Governance to instill a culture that is centered around good governance and compliance.
  • Operational Controls - Driving and contributing to a culture of quality/excellence, through risk awareness and adherence to regulatory compliance standards and operational controls.
  • Regulatory Adherence - Ensuring an effective risk-based approach is adopted to meet all regulatory compliance procedures per jurisdiction.

 

Strategic Expectations

  • Share insights to enable development of new processes and procedures that will create business efficiency and support delivery of client excellence in service.
  • Maintain awareness of industry, regulatory, jurisdictional, and other trends that could affect the business.
  • Contribute to the creation, development and implementation of new products and solutions to accommodate the businesses continuous changing needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations staff, business users, project, and implementation managers to achieve desired and elegant solutions.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide strategic advice based on market insights to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and manage budgets for strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure capital adequacy and efficient allocation of resources.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, specializing in Marketing and Communications or PR
  • 3–6 years of experience in marketing or communications, with exposure to both digital and offline channels.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM/marketing platforms (ClickDimensions, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Experience using Google’s marketing suite (certifications advantageous).
  • Practical exposure to content creation, event coordination, and/or digital performance tracking.
  • Professional services or financial sector experience preferred (but not essential).
