Senior Associate – Investment Monitoring

Position Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Associate to join our Private Debt Operations team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our private debt data, with a focus on investment monitoring, portfolio valuation, and team leadership. The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts, manage end-to-end data workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely, and well-governed information across investment systems and reporting processes. 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Lead and mentor a team of analysts, managing task allocation, performance tracking, and skills development while fostering continuous improvement. 
• Monitor private debt investments across Corporate Loans, CLOs, ABLs, Infrastructure, and Real Estate by tracking key financial metrics and collaborating with investment teams on emerging risks. 
• Assist in coordinating portfolio valuation cycles, including data sourcing and validation, preparation of valuation materials, timeline management, and audit support. 
• Act as a key liaison with valuation agents, auditors ensuring clear communication and accurate data delivery. 
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies, enhance data quality, and support scalable, automated workflows in collaboration with internal stakeholders. 
• Own and maintain documentation of core operational processes, ensuring they are current, auditable, and aligned with internal control standards. 
• Develop and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to reflect evolving best practices and regulatory expectations. 
• Produce and deliver team KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports, while managing inboxes and maintaining timely stakeholder communication 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements 

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in private markets, portfolio monitoring, investment operations, or data governance—preferably within private debt. 
• Proven experience leading or mentoring analysts or small teams. 
• Strong understanding of financial statements, including the income statement and balance sheet, with knowledge of key credit metrics such as EBITDA, leverage ratios, and debt covenants. 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modelling, data validation, and process automation; familiarity with database tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI) is a plus. 
• Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability. 
• Clear and confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and seniority levels. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment. 
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a strong focus on efficiency, data quality, and continuous process enhancement.
