Senior AI Agent Engineer / AI Consultant

We are seeking a talented AI Engineer / Consultant to join our client's team to design, develop, and implement an AI agent to support client’s products, leveraging existing enterprise knowledge stored in Confluence, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and enterprise‑grade integration.

Our client specializes in innovative software solutions for public safety, transport, air traffic, maritime, and defense sectors with a focus on incident and crisis management in global settings. Our projects are technically and organizationally challenging and require a high level of expertise.

Your responsibility and expected outcome (3‑Month Assignment):

• Clear AI agent architecture aligned with NIS needs

• Working proof‑of‑concept / MVP

• Integration with Confluence‑based knowledge

• Documentation and handover to internal teams

Requirements

What we expect from you:

Technical skills:

• Strong experience in AI/ML engineering, with hands‑on delivery of LLM‑based solutions

• Proven experience designing and implementing AI agents (e.g. multi‑step reasoning, tool use, retrieval‑augmented generation)

• Solid Python skills (production‑quality code)

• Experience with RAG architectures, especially:

  • Document ingestion

  • Chunking & embeddings

  • Vector databases

  • Retrieval optimization

• Practical experience integrating enterprise knowledge sources, ideally:

  • Confluence

  • Wikis / documentation portals / internal knowledge bases

• Experience working with APIs and backend services

• Understanding of cloud‑native architectures (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)

Other expectations:

• Experience delivering solutions in enterprise or regulated environments

• Awareness of:

  • Data privacy

  • Access control

  • Security‑by‑design

• Ability to design maintainable, auditable, and scalable solutions

• Strong communication skills (can translate business needs into technical solutions)

• Able to work independently as a senior consultant

• Experience collaborating with product owners, architects, and engineering teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar)

• Experience with tool‑calling agents and workflow orchestration

• Knowledge of evaluation and monitoring of LLM systems

• Experience improving:

  • Hallucination control

  • Response reliability

  • Grounding on trusted sources

• Experience with enterprise search, semantic search, or knowledge graphs

• Familiarity with Confluence APIs or similar documentation systems

• Experience handling large, evolving document sets

• Experience in safety‑critical, industrial, aviation, or mission‑critical systems (highly appreciated)

• Experience working with B2B products rather than consumer AI only
