Code for America is looking for a talented Senior Advisor, AI & Technology Alliances will be the primary architect of Code for America’s private sector engagement and impact strategy. This role is designed to transform corporate relationships into high-value strategic assets that drive both mission-aligned revenue and scalable technology adoption. Through this work, the Senior Advisor will:
- Strengthen Code for America’s credibility as a trusted partner to technology and industry leadership
- Drive a vision for Code for America’s partnerships that balances the breadth of social impact with diversified revenue
- Shape Code for America’s industry partnership strategy by identifying new high-impact opportunities for pilots, collaborations, and field leadership.
- Build Code for America’s network of industry partners to expand the deployment of human-centered technology and AI
- Translate emerging technologies into actionable pathways for government adoption, balancing innovation with responsibility
- Create feedback loops between the external ecosystem and Code for America’s internal product, philanthropy, and revenue teams
About the Role:
The Senior Advisor, AI & Technology Alliances will lead Code for America’s development of strategic partnerships across the private sector to drive social impact and diversified, mission-aligned revenue. This leader will identify and cultivate high-impact relationships with private sector companies, industry leaders, and emerging startups to advance the responsible adoption of modern technology—including AI—and improve public service delivery. Working closely with Code for America’s product, government partnerships, and revenue leadership, the Senior Advisor will shape opportunities to strengthen private sector collaborations and deploy human-centered technology in service of Code for America’s mission.
This role will report to the VP of Growth and Partnerships and is expected to travel no more than 25% of the time.
Code for America is based in California and can employ those who reside full-time within the United States. This is a remote position.
In this Position You Will:
Private Sector Engagement Strategy & Internal Alignment: 30%
- Define Multi-Channel Strategy: Design and codify a comprehensive private sector engagement framework that identifies high-potential revenue streams, including direct commercial partnerships, co-sell opportunities, and indirect channel partnership models, among other opportunities
- Align and Iterate with Leadership: Build organizational consensus by aligning Code for America leadership around the private sector strategy; proactively incorporate internal feedback and market signals to iterate on the approach, ensuring it remains responsive to both Code for America’s mission and market demand.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor trends in private sector technology procurement and commercial B2G (Business-to-Government) models, translating these insights into actionable strategic opportunities for Code for America
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide ongoing reports to leadership regarding partnership pipeline health, revenue blockers, and emerging commercial risks or opportunities
- KPI Development: Define a KPI framework across social impact, breadth of partnerships, and revenue; work with leadership to set realistic targets and ensure consistent reporting against goals
Execution of Alliances & Diversified Revenue Generation: 45%
- Execute Strategic Roadmap: Lead the end-to-end execution of the partnership roadmap, moving from initial outreach and negotiation to the formalization of co-sell motions and revenue-generating agreements.
- Revenue-Focused Proposals: Generate visionary commercial proposals, concept notes, and partnership pitch materials in coordination with Government Revenue and Product teams to secure new contracts and funding
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a disciplined and rigorous partnership pipeline, ensuring all interactions and revenue projections are accurately captured in CRM systems (HubSpot/Salesforce).
- Framework & Systems Development: Develop and continuously improve partnership frameworks, MOUs, and support mechanisms that standardize how Code for America engages in commercial collaborations, building a sustainable system
Thought Leadership & Field-Building: 15%
- Strategic Representation: Position Code for America as a preferred partner for private sector firms, strategically representing the organization at industry-facing conferences and briefings.
- Commercial Communications: Collaborate with Marketing to provide input on a communications strategy that supports increased collaboration and lead gen
- Ecosystem Mapping: Maintain and update assessments of the private sector landscape to identify shifting competitive or collaborative dynamics.

About You:
This position is a perfect fit for an entrepreneurial, creative, social-impact minded technology leader who is excited to bridge the worlds of fast-moving AI innovation, social impact, and the realities of public-sector implementation.
- 10 - 15+ years of professional experience in technology partnerships, business development, alliance management, related strategic relationship roles with increasing responsibility
- Proven track record of driving private sector and/or government revenue through private sector collaborations
- Proven ability to define a multi-year partnership strategy, including the development of channel partner programs and indirect revenue models
- Experience working closely with Executive, Product, and Engineering leadership to align external market opportunities with internal roadmaps and operational capacity
- Expert-level skills in negotiating complex commercial agreements, MOUs, and revenue-sharing contracts.
- Strong "opportunity spotter" mentality with experience managing a disciplined partnership pipeline in CRM systems (Salesforce/HubSpot) and meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Deep understanding of the technology ecosystem, including SaaS business models, AI/ML deployment trends, and the B2G (Business-to-Government) procurement landscape
- Exceptional presence and communication skills, with the ability to build high-level relationships with corporate VPs and C-suite executives at private sector organizations
- Deep familiarity with AI technologies, trends, and their implications for public sector service delivery
- Track record of success in high-growth or rapidly changing environments, with the ability to iterate on strategy based on market feedback and organizational needs
- Skilled collaborator who thrives in interdisciplinary environments and works effectively with senior executives and peers across multiple disciplines.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-moving technological change with judgment and composure.
- Deep commitment to Code for America’s mission and an understanding of how private-sector innovation can be harnessed for social impact.
It’s a Bonus if You Have: (if applicable)
- Background in B2G (Business-to-Government), government, civic technology, and/or social impact partnerships
- Professional background in, and experience with, artificial intelligence
- Experience working with a social impact-focused product team, agile product development and/or working in iterative planning cycles
- Professional or lived experience with housing, climate disaster response, safety net benefits (SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, EITC), workforce development programs, the criminal justice system, and tax credits (EITC).
- A track record of government revenue generation
- Experience transitioning an organization from a direct-sales-only model to a partner-led or co-sell growth model
- Familiarity with government technology procurement vehicles and how private sector partners navigate them.

Salary:
Code for America’s salary bands are transparent as a part of our commitment to transparency and fairness. As part of our hiring practices, we aim to target the midpoint of the 2nd quartile of the range for all new hires.
Offer targets vary based on market / geographic location. The offer targets for this role range from ($126,809 to $192,500) annually.
