The opportunity
Join Unity as an Adaptive Planning (Workday) Application Engineer in Bangalore to play a critical role in driving decision making across the company. This role is essential to our global support model, providing the engineering horsepower needed to turn our strategic roadmap into reality. You will be responsible for the hands-on development, deployment, and operational support of solutions primarily within Adaptive Planning. Working in close coordination with our onshore Adaptive Engineer, you will play a key part in the design, build and optimization of models that support our FP&A teams.
This is a hybrid position based in our Bangalore office. General working hours for this role will be 2pm-11pm IST during the weekdays.

What you'll be doing

  • Focus on the hands-on development and configuration of solutions within Adaptive Planning, including building models, creating reports, and configuring integrations. Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our existing FP&A systems and integrations.
  • Translate technical designs and requirements into high-quality, production-ready code and configurations. Assist in the deployment of new solutions and enhancements to the production environment, following established change management protocols.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Adaptive Planning and internal data sources, ensuring a seamless flow of accurate data
  • Provide timely and effective technical support for our FP&A applications during offshore hours, managing a ticket queue and resolving user-reported issues.
  • Collaborate daily with the US-based Product Manager and Lead Engineer to receive and clarify work priorities, ensuring tight alignment with project goals. Participate actively in all phases of the agile software development lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Stay up to date with Adaptive Planning product releases and features, rolling them out timely to the team

What we're looking for

  • At least 5 years of hands-on development or implementation experience with Adaptive Planning is required.
  • Solid understanding of core software development principles and a passion for building quality solutions.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and working with APIs to connect disparate systems.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with excellent English communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a global team. Self-starter with capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects and tasks
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering data-driven solutions that drive business impact

  • Adaptive Planning Certified
  • Working knowledge of LLM's and Implemented AI /robotic tools to reduce manual effort in the Finance space
  • Experience with Workday Studio/Extend/Orchestration
