Senior Acquisition CPI SME (Acquisition Continuous Process Improvement Subject Matter Expert)
Location: Remote (must be able to support Eastern Time core hours)
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday

About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Acquisition CPI SME to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) C5ISC acquisition organization. In this role, you’ll lead and execute acquisition-focused continuous process improvement (CPI) efforts that improve acquisition planning, execution, and reporting through measurable, repeatable process improvements.
This is a strong fit for someone who understands federal acquisition, can run structured improvement initiatives end-to-end, and brings hands-on process maturity experience.
What you’ll do
- Lead acquisition CPI initiatives from intake through implementation and sustainment
- Gather and organize stakeholder input and facilitate prioritization of CPI opportunities (including methods like multi-voting)
- Assess effort, risk, resource needs, and expected impacts for proposed CPI initiatives; develop supporting analysis and briefings
- Develop CPI charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, and project plans; track execution and report status monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Support acquisition Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) with facilitation, coordination, and recommendations that improve efficiency and productivity
- Define and track KPIs and performance measures to demonstrate results and continuous improvement
- Create and maintain practical tools and documentation such as process guides, desk guides, flow charts, templates, and training aids
- Ensure deliverables are clear, consistent, and ready for use in Microsoft 365 (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and PDF formats

Requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Recent experience supporting federal acquisitions (within the last 48 months)
- Strong working knowledge of federal acquisition processes and the FAR
- Process improvement experience aligned to CMMI (or equivalent)
- CMMI Practitioner certification (required)
- Ability to build and manage project plans, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications (MS Project or similar)
- Strong writing and documentation skills with a track record of producing usable, repeatable process products
