As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of the management company finance team. This team has a broad mandate and is responsible for managing the books, records, and budgets of both US and International businesses, and managing tax filings with external service providers. You will report to our Management Company Controller and serve as the primary finance point of contact for several newly launched and emerging businesses within the firm. This role is a means to make a difference: work with our senior executives and partners to support critical accounting and budgeting processes, and growth initiatives across the firm.
Responsibilities
Act as principal point of contact for finance and accounting matters for new and existing businesses, ensuring alignment across accounting operations, FP&A, tax, and external service providers as needed
Oversee the design and execution of expense allocation methodologies across a multi-entity structure, ensuring accurate and consistent distribution of shared costs while improving transparency
Support the monthly and quarterly close process across multiple management company entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Manage the relationship between management company finance and fund finance by supporting the expense allocation, management fee and performance allocations process
Oversee GP capital accounting and reporting for partners, including capital activity, allocations, and preparation of accurate, timely capital statements
Assist in designing, documenting, and enhancing internal controls and accounting policies
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness
Assist with the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
Oversee and mentor junior accounting staff, providing day-to-day guidance, performance feedback, and review of work product to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Participate in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives led by the Management Company Controller and CFO
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
10+ years of experience in public accounting and/or private industry accounting, preferably within financial services, asset management, or complex multi-entity environments
Strong understanding of US GAAP and cash/accrual accounting
Experience supporting multiple entities or business lines in a shared-services or matrixed environment
Proficiency with enterprise ERP systems (Workday Financials preferred; SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills; comfort working with financial models, reconciliations, and analysis
Active CPA preferred
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000 in the locations of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation such as bonus compensation and other benefits. Our benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, life and AD&D insurance, 20 days of paid time off, 9 sick days, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
