Role Overview
The Senior Accounting Manager – Fintech is a hands-on role managing day-to-day accounting for multiple Fintech clients, including month-end close, AR/AP, payroll, and tax compliance. This role serves as a Fintech accounting expert, overseeing general accounting, supporting financial statements and management reporting, managing cash, and assisting with budgets and forecasts. Ideal candidates bring experience in early-stage Fintech environments and establishing accounting policies and procedures to support growth.
Responsibilities
- Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs actual analysis
- Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients
- Manage Accounts Receivable - which includes invoicing, collections, reviewing contracts
- Manage Accounts Payable - which includes ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies
- Develop and manage reconciliation procedures for high-transaction firms.
- Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations
- Mentor and train future team members
Requirements
- Solid understanding of GAAP, CPA preferred
- Experience working in lending, payments, Insurtech, or capital markets companies at Seed-, Series A, and Series B stages
- Advanced+ Excel
- Experience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Netsuite, Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify, Carta
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Independent judgment and decision-making
- Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time
- Professional curiosity & creativity
- Passionate desire to learn & for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience working in a fast-paced Fintech, Saas, or professional services environment
- Professional integrity
- High energy and enthusiasm, with a strong commitment to exceeding client expectations
- Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments, industries, and roles
- Ability to learn quickly, make an immediate impact, and provide value-added service
- Strong ability to connect and build relationships with clients, firm leadership, & peers

Location/Travel
- Remote
- Ability to travel at least twice a year for All-Staff Retreats & Regional Meetups, and as needed for recruiting vendor partnerships and networking opportunities.
Reports To: CFO - Fintech
Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 - based on experience
Target Annual Bonus: 10% annual target bonus
Position Status: Full-Time, Exempt
