Senior Accountant

TLDR

Support the head of the accounting department by managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with policies, and overseeing internal and external audits.

The incumbent is the deputy to the head of the accounting department. He/she will be responsible for delegated tasks in the management of accounting, taxes, internal and external audit.

The position includes the handling and supervision of the processing of financial transactions, including the payment process, IFRS closings and FGAAP statutory reports.

  Responsibilities (Describe the main responsibilities of the job)

 

Full supports upon needs:

 

·       + Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management /reconciliation, financial reporting, balance sheet management.

·       + Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

·       + Provides technical accounting guidance and support to the French subsidiary.

·       + Ensures that company financial records, are maintained in compliance with company policies, reviews monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.

·       + Ensures that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives requirements.

·       + Supervises the completion of State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation.

·       + Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.

·       + Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Involved in the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.

·       + Prepare and review tax calculations, estimates and reports accruals

·       + Support tax compliance, reporting, and filing works for the Group.

·       + Support for establishing  appropriate system or processes for tax risk management for the Group in his/her scope

·       + Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support for the Group in his/her scope

·       + Review current and deferred tax provision

·       + Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business operation matters in his/her scope

·       + Support and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives locally  

Requirements

Profond accounting and tax education/knowledge or university/college degree in revision/accounting/taxes/controlling

At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting/group accounting/audit or in an international company.

·       IFRS and FGAAP statutory education/knowledge

·       Profound knowledge in group accounting and tax (sales tax)

·       A head for figures and analytical thinking

·       Understanding of business processes

·       Open minded

·       Very good command of the English language, excellent MS Excel skills (complex applications) and  general MS Office knowledge

·       Microsoft Dynamics AX knowledge favorable

·       Team oriented and also independent working style

·       Resilience, determination, accuracy and reliability
