Spreetail is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our growing finance organization by owning complex accounting activities, driving accurate and timely financial reporting, and partnering cross-functionally to improve processes and controls. This role will analyze monthly financial results, perform GAAP-based accounting for complex transactions, lead balance sheet reconciliations, and support audit activities. The Senior Accountant will design and deliver meaningful reporting and insights, proactively resolve issues, and help define and implement scalable business processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, a bottom-line mindset, and the ability to lead through influence while contributing to a positive, high-performance culture. How you will achieve success:
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, investigate variances vs. prior period and prior year, and perform accounting for complex transactions in accordance with GAAP.
  • Execute advanced accounting processes including complex balance sheet reconciliations, GAAP research, audit support, and interaction with external auditors.
  • Design, build, and deliver reporting, metrics, and insights that drive issue resolution and maintain a strong bottom-line orientation.
  • Lead workstreams and provide guidance in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; drive cross-functional issue resolution through effective communication.
  • Define, document, and improve business processes, policies, and internal controls; lead new process design and applicable accounting software initiatives.
