Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining the integrity of financial data across multiple entities. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex intercompany transactions and reconciliations in a dynamic environment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain chart of accounts consistency across merged entities.

  • Record monthly journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, payroll accounting, and suspense account cleanup.

  • Prepare and submit the balance sheet reconciliation package for headquarters.

  • Manage intercompany transaction entries and eliminations.

  • Assist with tax compliance, including sales/use tax and corporate filings.

  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Analyze variances and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial results.

  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.

  • Participate in ERP system enhancements and integration projects (SAP experience preferred).

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft platforms

  • Understanding of tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal control frameworks.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidation and intercompany transactions.
