About the Organization
A mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on affordable housing is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial management and compliance of its affordable housing portfolio. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, reconciliations, distributions, and capital activity related to affordable housing entities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financials and supporting schedules for joint venture partners
Maintain equity, preferred return, and cash flow schedules
Respond to JV financial inquiries and participate in recurring partner calls
Prepare and process monthly and quarterly distributions
Coordinate approvals with internal teams and JV partners
Prepare and upload required lender reporting packages
Support audits, tax return preparation, and regulatory requests
Support annual and ongoing cash flow projections for partners and lenders
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Affordable housing or nonprofit real estate accounting experience required
Advanced Excel skills, Yardi or similar ERP preferred
