The Position:

The Senior Account Executive will lead national publicity initiatives for Allied Global Marketing, managing accounts from concept through execution and analysis. This role requires exceptional client relationship management skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to oversee junior team members while driving successful publicity campaigns. The Senior Account Executive will serve as a primary client contact, develop comprehensive PR strategies, secure high-quality media placements, and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets across local, regional, and national markets. While the position will be based in Orlando, it could also support other accounts around the U.S. including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Leading day-to-day client strategy and communication; Drafting client-facing and media-facing documents; Attending and taking internal and external notes during meetings and conference calls; Staffing photoshoots and press/influencer opportunities; contributing to and executing against timelines and communications plans; Tracking and powerfully reporting on all earned coverage while demonstrating a commitment and ability to develop his/her position as required by the needs of the team and our clients.

 

Duties include (but are not limited to): 

Strategic Thinking

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies with minimal senior-level input and oversight
  • Proactively monitor industry trends and cultural moments to identify messaging opportunities and share with the wider team for visibility
  • Proactively recommend strategic pivots based on real-time market conditions
  • Develop competitive analysis and provide strategic positioning recommendations
  • Think out-of-the-box and provide recommendations that drive successful outreach tactics
  • Anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions

Leadership

  • Mentor and develop junior team members with minimal oversight
  • Understand how to provide regular, constructive feedback that supports professional growth
  • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining quality control standards
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and maintain positive team morale
  • Support senior leadership efforts in performance review processes and individual development planning
  • Demonstrate leadership potential through decision-making and proactive problem-solving.

Research and Reporting

  • Provide oversight to ensure delivery of timely, strategic client reports
  • Conduct competitive analysis and in-depth research to develop campaign planning and client strategy
  • Proactively identify industry shifts and media opportunities
  • Support junior team members in developing research and reporting skills

Client Support

  • Serve as a lead client contact, managing day-to-day relationships with minimal oversight
  • Lead client meetings and calls with confidence and strategic insight
  • Proactively identify and address client needs before they become issues
  • Understand how to achieve high client retention rates and positive feedback
  • Manage client expectations and deliver on all commitments within agreed timelines with minimal oversight
  • Understand crisis communication efforts by working with senior leadership on program implementation

Placement/Hits

  • Secure high-quality media placements across local, regional, and national outlets
  • Lead pitch strategy and execution to generate earned media coverage
  • Coordinate event coverage and media attendance at client activations with minimal oversight
  • Proactively lead media roundups that highlight key insights and trends
  • Track and analyze placement quality, reach, and messaging effectiveness to better understand next month's goals and needs
  • Secure placements in tier-one (top-tier) publications and broadcast outlets

Media Relations

  • Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts and influencers on a local, regional, and national level
  • Take a proactive approach to relationship building with journalists, taking desksides, coffee meetings, and email-based intros/conversations
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of media landscape, outlet priorities, and editorial calendars nationally, regionally, and market specific
  • Build reporter relationships that result in proactive story opportunities
  • Coordinate significant media opportunities, interviews, and broadcast segments
  • Serve as a trusted source for media contacts across assigned client categories
  • Maintain current knowledge of journalist beats and media personnel changes on a national, regional, and local level

Writing

  • Create compelling and comprehensive press releases and press materials with minimal editing required
  • Develop strategic and timely pitches that resonate with target media outlets
  • Write comprehensive briefing documents, run-of-shows, and client presentations
  • Craft creative story angles and campaign concepts that generate media interest
  • Adapt writing style and tone to match different client brands and target audiences
  • Produce clear, actionable client reports and strategic recommendations
  • Review, edit and provide constructive feedback for junior team members with minimal oversight

Organization

  • Manage multiple client accounts and campaigns simultaneously with minimal oversight
  • Meet all deadlines and deliverable commitments across assigned accounts with minimal oversight
  • Maintain organized project management with junior staff across all client accounts
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for events, media opportunities, and campaign launches
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Efficiently delegate tasks while ensuring quality oversight

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in an agency and/or corporate setting, preferably in public relations with relevant experience within the hospitality and entertainment industries.

  • Strong media and influencer contacts in and surrounding areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and service-oriented
  • Comfort in working remotely with regular weekly in-person check-ins
  • Understanding and consistent application of AP Style with a proven ability to write clearly, accurately, and professionally
  • Passionate writer with strong journalistic instincts and a keen understanding of how to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated success in media pitching with a record of securing placements in top outlets
  • Strong understanding of the ever-changing media landscape, including traditional press, online publications, and influencer-driven platforms
  • Independent, creative self-starter who wants to learn and evolve
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage and execute multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with others on both the staff and client side, open to constructive coaching from all senior level executives
  • Professional experience and personal interest in the hospitality and entertainment industries are preferred
