Overview

The Security Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of corporate and field security across Cypress Creek Renewables. This hands-on role protects personnel, property, and assets at offices, construction sites, and operational facilities. The Manager will design, implement, and continuously improve security programs, policies, and systems that promote a safe and secure work environment.

The Manager works closely with Safety, Construction, O&M, and Leadership to develop proactive strategies, mitigate theft and vandalism and maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement, community partners, and contracted security forces.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Work with contracted security forces to effectively manage staffing, scheduling, and performance.

Security Operations & Strategy

  • Develop and implement companywide security policies, procedures, and standards for offices and field sites.
  • Coordinate with Safety and Field Operations to ensure consistent risk mitigation, emergency response planning, and incident management practices.
  • Monitor security trends and incidents, analyze root causes, and implement actionable strategies to reduce risk and loss exposure.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize the security operating budget, including vendor cost controls, invoice validation, and ROI assessment for guards and technology.
  • Support security related insurance loss prevention initiatives, claims documentation, evidence collection, and post-incident insurer engagement.
  • Own the standard security technology architecture across the fleet, including camera standards, analytics, access control, and remote monitoring.
  • Proactively engage local law enforcement, municipalities, and community stakeholders for high-risk sites.

Theft Prevention & Incident Response

  • Conduct threat assessments for existing facilities and new/planned sites to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements.
  • Lead initiatives to prevent and respond to copper and material theft at construction and O&M sites.
  • Develop deterrence measures, conduct investigations, and coordinate with law enforcement and community partners.
  • Conduct site visits to assess vulnerabilities and ensure security infrastructure effectiveness.
  • Track and report incidents, identifying trends and implementing preventive strategies.
  • Post Arrest Legal Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with Legal and law enforcement following arrests, supporting prosecution efforts, evidence preservation, restitution claims, and case follow through for security related violations

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and deliver monthly Security Reports summarizing incidents, preventive measures, metrics, and progress on open issues.
  • Provide timely updates and recommendations to senior leadership regarding security performance, risks, and emerging issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and law enforcement engagement.

Program Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously assess and improve security programs, incorporating industry best practices.
  • Recommend technology enhancements or process improvements to strengthen site security, reduce theft, and improve incident response.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs for employees and contractors to promote security awareness and compliance.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for security effectiveness, response time, and incident reduction.

Education and Experience

Required

  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in corporate, field, or industrial security management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or related field.
  • Proven leadership managing multi-site security teams and/or contracted forces.
  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement and managing theft or criminal investigations.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills; ability to prioritize and execute independently.
  • Hands-on experience with video surveillance systems, access control, and incident reporting platforms.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to multiple states and project sites.

Preferred

  • Prior law enforcement or military security experience.
  • Experience in construction, energy, utilities, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, or similar.
  • Background in loss prevention, investigations, or emergency management.

Location: This position is remote with a preference for North Carolina. Travel is up to 30% across project sites and offices.
