Role Summary:
We are looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our team and help us protect our cloud infrastructure and software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services, as well as experience with threat modeling, identity and access management system configuration, auditing, and monitoring, data loss prevention techniques and implementation, log analytics, and some coding ability.
What You’ll Do:
Design, implement, and maintain security controls for cloud infrastructure and software development lifecycle.
Build and maintain partner IPSec VPN connections, NAT, and IP routing with Teraform. Perform threat modeling and identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
Configure and manage identity and access management systems to ensure the right access controls are in place.
Perform auditing and monitoring to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
Implement data loss prevention techniques to protect sensitive data.
Analyze logs and other security-related data to identify and respond to security incidents.
Collaborate with software development teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards for engineering teams.
Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years experience in a Security Operations Engineer role.
Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
Experience with threat modeling, identity and access management system configuration, auditing, and monitoring, data loss prevention techniques and implementation, and log analytics.
Network engineering experience including tcp/ip, routing, firewalls, and ipsec vpn.
Linux system administration including bash and ubuntu management.
Some coding ability in languages such as Python, Node, or Typescript.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
We value in-person collaboration and connection. For Bay Area–based employees, this role requires being in our San Mateo office at least three days a week. For remote employees, occasional travel to headquarters is expected for company-wide events and onsite gatherings.
