Security Engineer - Madrid - Hybrid

Mission

Join our Platform Security team as a security engineer who builds, not just operates. Youwill design and build transformational security solutions that protect our AI-driven platform, securing complex data flows, AI pipelines, and cloud infrastructure at scale. Your first major project: contributing to our Security & Governance Observability Platform, then owning end-to-end security initiatives that fundamentally improve how we protect data and technology.

Role

As a Security Engineer, you are a builder who writes code to solve security problems at scale. We’re not looking for operators who configure existing tools—we need software engineers with deep security expertise who can design and build transformational security systems for

an AI-first company.

You will face problems of the AI age: securing complex data flows across distributed systems, protecting AI models and training pipelines, and building governance frameworks that maintain speed while ensuring safety. You will own projects end-to-end and collaborate closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Platform teams.

We are looking for candidates who are strong in at least 2 of the areas below:

Security Engineering & Platform Building:

• Design and build security automation systems and platforms (not just configure existing tools)

• Build components of our Security & Governance Observability Platform to automate control monitoring, compliance, evidence collection, and governance enforcement

• Write production-quality code to solve complex security challenges at scale

• Architect solutions that balance security, performance, and developer experience

AI & Data Ecosystem Security:

• Secure complex data flows across our AI-driven platform, including data lakes, analytics infrastructure, and AI training pipelines

• Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies for highly sensitive data at scale

• Protect AI models and datasets from adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and unauthorized access.

• Build observability and monitoring specifically for AI workloads and data operations

• Work with Data Science and ML Engineering teams to embed security into the AI lifecycle

Transformational Security Projects:

• Lead end-to-end ownership of security initiatives that fundamentally improve our security posture

• Design and implement cloud security controls for AWS environments (Kubernetes, serverless, data infrastructure)

• Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions that codify security policies across our environment

• Drive systemic risk reduction through automation, better architecture, and security-by-design thinking

Your profile

• Experience: 2-4 years as a software engineer, platform engineer, or security engineer building production systems, OR equivalent demonstrated skills in building security platforms and automation.

• Must-Have Skills:

• Strong systems thinking and ability to design complex technical systems that solve security problems at scale

• Software engineering mindset - You write production-quality code to build security solutions, not just script or configure existing tools

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and lead technical conversations with engineering teams

• Data Loss Prevention (DLP) experience - You’ve implemented DLP strategies for sensitive data in production environments

• Cloud infrastructure security - Deep experience with any major cloud provider (we use AWS; understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architectures

• Experience in data-intensive environments - You understand the challenges of securing complex data flows, data lakes, or analytics infrastructure

• Coding proficiency - Language agnostic, but you write clean, maintainable code (we use Python)

• AI/ML security foundations - Basic understanding of AI model security, training pipeline risks, and data governance challenges

• Working Style:

• End-to-end ownership: You own your projects from design through deployment and maintenance.

• Independence with collaboration: You can work independently on large technical initiatives while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

• Documentation and knowledge sharing: You document your work and share knowledge to enable the team to scale

• Quality-driven: You care deeply about building systems that are secure, maintainable, and reliable

• AI-First Mindset: You’ll leverage AI tools daily to maximize your efficiency and impact. Ownership: You’ll own your domain end-to-end. Your scope of ownership will be smaller or larger depending on your level, but you’re expected to own it completely from design to delivery to maintenance. If you prefer to be told what to do, this isn’t the right environment for you.

Nice to Have

• Proven experience securing Kubernetes clusters in production (hardening, network policies, RBAC, runtime security)

• Hands-on experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices

• Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools or building security automation platforms.

• Exposure to AI/ML-specific security tools, model robustness testing, or privacy-preserving techniques (differential privacy, federated learning)

• Experience building observability, monitoring, or governance platforms from scratch

• Background in offensive security (penetration testing, red teaming) or adversarial thinking.

• Certifications like AWS Certified Security - Specialty, OSCP, or CISSP
