Your responsibilities as SEA Category Manager,
1. Set the Strategic Direction for Mountain sports (3-Year Plan)
- Define and lead the sport strategy in SEA with a focus on Offer, Supply, Procurement, and Merchandising.
- Analyze external factors (market trends, user behaviors, competitor analysis, purchase patterns) and internal factors (country-specific needs, sales performance, range analysis) to define sport direction.
- Develop and share the mountain sports products offer roadmap, ensuring alignment with Decathlon’s strategic vision and country sport policies.
- Collaborate with the SEA network to ensure country-level implementation of business strategies.
- Work closely with the Regional Sports (RS) and Merchandising teams to project a business plan up to Year+3.
- Align with Decathlon’s global sport director plan to ensure a cohesive approach across markets.
2. Define the Best Product Catalogue for SEA Countries (Year+1)
- Monitor and analyze product performance to assess offer effectiveness and range success.
- Gather feedback from SEA country teams to refine product assortments.
- Consolidate inputs to enhance the Business Plan (BP) up to Year+3:
- Link sport business trajectory to country-specific sport policies.
- Ensure product compliance by coordinating upstream homologation with PE/PM and downstream execution with country product compliance leaders.
- Take key decisions regarding product range, business plan alignment, cost analysis, and model adaptations to fit market needs.
- Share offer selection documents with country networks to guide range choices for Year+1.
3. Drive Commercial Success & Business Growth in SEA
- Coordinate the commercial actions across SEA countries by defining key partnerships, expectations, and timelines.
- Ensure strong product knowledge by training and supporting the product trainer network in SEA.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local sport networks to ensure smooth product launches.
- Provide key anticipation and debrief insights on business performance and adaptation strategies.
- Lead Range Choice milestones, working closely with retail supplier, Merchandising, and Country Retail Coordination teams.
- Study and recommend the best pricing structure to align with business objectives and local market policies.
- Anticipate product range evolutions through analysis of top/flop products, forecast adjustments, and clearance strategies.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly driven and strategic individual with a strong passion for sports, particularly mountain sports such as hiking, trekking, camping, and skiing. The ideal candidate should possess:
- Sports Enthusiasm: Deep passion for outdoor and mountain sports, preferably with hands-on experience.
- Product & Selection Expertise: Prior experience and knowledge of Decathlon’s product and selection cycle.
- Market Insights: Strong understanding of SEA market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape.
- Business Acumen: Ability to implement effective commercial actions to drive business growth.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, extract key insights, and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and execute robust strategies to strengthen Decathlon’s market presence in the region.
- Leadership skills: capacity to lead a project or a team
- Project Management: Experience or knowledge in project management is a plus.
