About the Role


We are seeking a talented Frontend Engineer contractor to join our Signup & Activation team. In
this role, you will build and optimize the frontend experiences that power our user acquisition
and activation funnels.


As a contractor, you'll integrate quickly into our cross-functional squad and contribute to
ongoing initiatives. Our team involves deep collaboration with other engineering teams,
designers, and product managers, so the ability to communicate effectively and work
autonomously in a remote environment is essential. While your primary focus will be on the frontend, you'll work closely with backend engineers to build complete product experiences
powered by data and personalization.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience building and shipping
    customer-facing frontend applications.

  • Strong proficiency in modern TypeScript & JavaScript, React, and Next.js.

  • AI Fluency: Comfortable using AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.) to
    accelerate development, debug issues, and explore solutions.

  • Solid understanding of modern frontend fundamentals: state management, component
    architecture, accessibility, testing, and UI quality.

  • Experience integrating frontends with APIs (REST, GraphQL a plus).

  • Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, or data-driven development approaches.

  • Ability to build quality interactive experiences with attention to detail and UX.

  • Excellent written communication skills: as a remote company with contractors, we
    rely heavily on async communication and documentation.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively in a remote
    environment.

  • Ability to quickly onboard to existing codebases with shared patterns (monorepos,
    shared UI libraries, or platform constraints.

Nice to Have

  • Have worked in a Growth Engineering team at a product-led company.

  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails that enables you to contribute to backend features and
    optimize full-stack interactions.

  • Experience with backend technologies like Redis, Kafka, MySQL, and Terraform.

  • A thoughtful approach to experimentation that balances rapid iteration with code quality.

  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to influence through technical
    depth and collaborative decision-making
