We are seeking a Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Manager to lead core regulatory compliance and scientific oversight across our dietary supplement portfolio.

This role will focus on core regulatory compliance, label governance, claim substantiation, and quality oversight.

You will serve as the internal regulatory lead, partnering with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience to ensure products are compliant from formulation through post-market support.

This role may be structured as full-time or part-time depending on candidate experience and availability. We are open to strong candidates seeking a fractional or flexible schedule.

 

Role/Responsibilities: 

Regulatory Compliance & Label Governance

  • Review and approve product labels, Supplement Facts panels, and packaging artwork

  • Ensure compliance with DSHEA, FDA labeling regulations, and cGMP requirements

  • Conduct regulatory review of marketing claims, website copy, and educational content

  • Develop and maintain structure/function claim substantiation dossiers

  • Monitor regulatory developments impacting dietary supplements

Product & Formula Oversight

  • Review new and reformulated products for regulatory feasibility

  • Evaluate ingredient documentation, COAs, and supplier materials

  • Assess structure/function claims for adequacy of scientific support

  • Partner with contract manufacturers to ensure documentation integrity

Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain organized regulatory and scientific documentation systems

  • Support third-party testing strategies and lot verification processes

  • Assist with investigations when needed

  • Ensure audit readiness and strong internal compliance processes

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with Marketing to translate research into compliant, consumer-friendly language

  • Provide internal guidance on ingredient claims and regulatory guardrails

  • Support Customer Experience with technical or safety inquiries

  • Assist with adverse event documentation as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in regulatory or scientific affairs within dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, or functional foods

  • Deep knowledge of DSHEA, FDA labeling requirements, FTC claim standards, and cGMPs

  • Experience substantiating structure/function claims

  • Experience reviewing labels and marketing materials for compliance

  • Strong ability to interpret clinical research and regulatory guidance

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related life sciences

  • Experience in a DTC supplement environment

  • Experience working in a high-growth brand

  • Compensation: $40–$50 per hour (or equivalent annualized compensation, depending on structure, depending on experience). This role may be structured as part-time or full-time on an hourly basis. Scope and total weekly hours will be determined based on candidate experience and company needs.
