Position Requirements
Education
  • PhD in life sciences or PharmD
Experience
  • ≥ 5 years professional medical writing experience in a scientific communications agency
 
Primary Responsibilities
Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:
  • Provide scientific direction internally to writing staff and account team and externally to clients and authors
  • Lead strategic planning, including development of scientific platforms and publication plans
  • Responsible for quality control of projects through content review and final sign off
  • Oversee work product of multiple writers and support their professional development
  • Provide writing support for medical communication projects and new business support as needed
  • Work with client services team to manage project-related needs, including writer work flow, scheduling, and prioritizing of tasks
  • Support project scoping and account forecasting
  • Support recruitment, training, mentoring, and management of writers
  • Support Director, Scientific Services in providing leadership, job performance evaluation, and career development to writing staff 
  • Willingness to travel (~15%)

  • Expertise in multiple therapeutic areas
  • Understand marketing strategies and able to play major role in development of medical communication plans
  • Strategic thinking with ability to define custom solutions for client challenges and drive organic growth
  • Demonstrable experience with providing scientific direction in publication accounts
  • Demonstrable experience providing content review
  • Excellent work product requiring minimal internal review
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate client/author interactions and strategic conversations related to project and account asks
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and reference management software (eg, Endnote, Reference Manager)
