TPAPT, a national consortium of over 12,000 locally owned and operated Tutoring & College Advising Programs, is seeking an in-person tutor to work with students in grades 9-12 in the Houston.

As the In-Person Tutor for SAT or ACT, you will be responsible for providing quality in-person tutoring to students preparing for these exams. You will work closely with students to understand their unique learning styles and create customized lesson plans that support their individual academic goals. Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: $30-$40/hr

Classification: Contract

Tutoring Type: Curriculum provided, in-home Private SAT or ACT test preparation

Hours: A minimum of 3 hours per week including some weekend availability

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person private tutoring sessions to students preparing for a standardized tests
  • Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students.
  • Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress.
  • Collaborate with students' families to keep them apprised of student progress.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the SAT, PSAT, and ACT exams and adjust lesson plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or test preparation.
  • Past experience teaching or tutoring the SAT or ACT exams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop customized lesson plans for individual students.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, as needed.
  • Self-motivated and committed to helping students succeed.
