SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Application Engineer

Role Overview

The SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Application Engineer is responsible for the configuration, support, and continuous improvement of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial processes. This role supports global business users by delivering stable, scalable, and upgrade-ready SAP solutions while enforcing fit-to-standard and clean-core principles.

The role works closely with business process owners, integration teams, and external partners to ensure end-to-end process integrity across ERP, MES, PLM, and other enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Configuration & Support

• Configure, support, and enhance SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud modules including:  FI, MM, PP, PS, QM, WM, and SD
• Provide Level 1/2/3 support for incidents, defects, and service requests
• Participate in SAP quarterly release cycles, including regression testing and change validation
• Maintain configuration documentation, process flows, and support procedures

 End-to-End Process Enablement

• Support integrated business processes including:
• Record-to-Report (FI)
• Procure-to-Pay (MM, WM)
• Plan-to-Produce (PP, QM)
• Project-to-Result (PS)
• Order-to-Cash (SD, WM)
• Ensure alignment of SAP processes with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain operations
• Support plant operations and global shared services

 Fit-to-Standard & Clean Core

• Apply fit-to-standard methodology when gathering and implementing requirements
• Minimize custom developments and ensure all extensions comply with clean-core standards
• Leverage standard SAP Fiori apps, configuration frameworks, and best practices
• Partner with business users to redesign processes using SAP standard capabilities

Integration & Data Management

• Support integrations between SAP and all surrounding systems
• Collaborate with integration teams on APIs, middleware, and data troubleshooting
• Support master data governance, data quality, and process controls

Testing, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Support change management, transport coordination, and deployment activities
• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and performance improvement
• Contribute to Agile delivery teams and continuous improvement initiatives

Security, Controls & Compliance

• Support SOX, IFRS, audit, and compliance requirements within SAP
• Assist with role design, access provisioning, and segregation of duties
• Ensure changes follow established governance and documentation standards

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
• 4–8 years of SAP S4 HANA functional experience across multiple modules
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Public Cloud strongly preferred
• Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial companies
• Experience working in global, multi-country SAP environments

SAP Functional Expertise

• Strong working knowledge in multiple modules:
  FI, MM, PP, PS, QM, WM, SD
• Solid understanding of cross-module integration and end-to-end processes
• Experience with SAP Public Cloud configuration tools and Fiori UX

Technical Skills

• Understanding of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud architecture and release management
• Familiarity with SAP BTP, integrations, and API-based extensions
• Experience supporting SAP interfaces and data flows

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into SAP-standard solutions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cloud-based SAP environment
• Strong communication skills with business and technical teams
• Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud certification(s)
• Experience with MES or PLM integrations
• Exposure to Agile delivery and ITIL support models
• Experience supporting SAP quarterly upgrade cycles
