Job Summary:
The Sand Casting Molder with Alfa Set experience is responsible for preparing molds for metal casting using the Alfa Set process. The role ensures that molds meet required dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and quality standards to support efficient and defect-free casting operations. The position requires skilled handling of mold materials, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols in the casting shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Mold Preparation:
Prepare and assemble sand molds using the Alfa Set process according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Ensure molds are accurately dimensioned, properly compacted, and meet quality standards.
Inspect and verify molds for defects, dimensional errors, or surface imperfections before casting.
Process Management:
Mix and handle mold materials according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor mold curing times and ensure molds are ready for casting within production schedules.
Coordinate with foundry operators to ensure molds meet production and quality requirements.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct routine inspections to ensure molds comply with specifications.
Identify and report any defects or irregularities in molds to the supervisor.
Suggest improvements in mold preparation processes to enhance castig quality.
Safety & Maintenance:
Follow all safety protocols in handling molding materials and working in the casting shop.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of materials and tools.
Participate in preventive maintenance of molding equipment as required.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of molds prepared, defects identified, and corrective actions taken.
Report daily progress and any operational issues to the shift supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sand Casting Molder with expertise in the Alfa Set process.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical stamina to handle heavy molds and work in a foundry environment.
Knowledge of foundry safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in handling complex casting molds and large-scale production.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proactive problem-solving skills and process improvement mindset.
