About the Role

As a Technical Consultant specialising in Salesforce, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical services and support to clients. This role will see you working across a number of innovative and exciting solutions, for a range of organisations throughout New Zealand.

What you’ll do

  • Design, configure, and develop Salesforce solutions that solve real business problems primarily using  programmatic methods (Apex, Lightning Web Components). 
  • Translate client requirements into robust technical designs, data models, and integration architectures. 
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and platform events. 
  • Apply best practices for security, error handling, trigger development, and design patterns. 
  • Support the full project lifecycle—from discovery workshops and solution design through to testing, deployment, and go-live support. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, architects, project managers, and client stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to our internal community of practice, sharing knowledge and helping others grow. 
  • Engage directly with clients—running workshops, presenting demos, and providing trusted advisory throughout engagements.

What you’ll bring

You won’t just need to be outstanding at what you do – but also how you communicate it with customers, and the team is critical. Here at Datacom, we pride ourselves on our collaborative environment, so your ability to work effectively with others is paramount. As a Salesforce Developer, you will have over 2 years’ hands on development experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM and ideally will have worked with a range of integration tools.

You will ideally experience with the following: 

  • Proficiency in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and Flows 
  • Experience with Salesforce data management, migration, and integration patterns 
  • Understanding of DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, Salesforce DX) 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies 
  • A keen sense for learning especially for new Salesforce products such as Agentforce. 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce platform API’s 
  • Salesforce Certifications.
