The Sales Engineer serves as a dual-facing technical architect, bridging the gap between customer needs and internal engineering capabilities. This position will provide the strategic vision and technical expertise required to identify, design, and secure new business opportunities in both existing and emerging markets.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Collaborates with internal Network Administration and Engineering (NA&E), Market, Products and Sales to understand market ecosystem requirements. Assists in developing methodology, strategy, procedure and standards to design, implement and support product portfolio. Product portfolio includes Layer1-3 protocols and Equipment specifications.

 

Accountable for physical design, scope of initial anchor builds and general proximity to additional viable business opportunity locations that are identified by Engineering, Outside Plant, or Sales.

 

Responsible for Unified Communications client demos.

 

Accountable for Visio diagrams specific to sales opportunities.

 

Provides customer facing support representing the Technical Services Team.

 

Assists with training of new hires and ongoing biweekly sales training.

 

Interacts and communicates effectively with co-workers, partners, customers, and others.

 

Assists sales with completing the technical information for sales orders.

 

Collaborates on fiber plant usage/reservations based on sales forecasts and Layer1-3 market strategy.

 

Collaborate with Project Manager on fiber plant layout, sizing and requirements based on current and future market opportunities as it relates to construction in process and potential Sales opportunities.

 

Performs other special projects and duties as requested.

 

 

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or network engineering, or equivalent work experience desired along with 5 or more years of experience working in a telecommunications service provider network desired.
