SUMMARY:

We are seeking a high-caliber Sales Director to lead and scale our Strategic Account Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for the retention and growth of our most valuable, high-complexity enterprise customers. You will manage a team of Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), coaching them to move beyond tactical execution and toward becoming "trusted advisors" who drive long-term business value and multi-threaded expansion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor a team of high-performing Strategic Account Managers. Conduct regular 1:1s, professional development sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Strategic Growth: Own the net-revenue retention (NRR) and expansion quotas for the enterprise segment. Develop and execute account-level strategies to identify new stakeholders and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
  • Executive Presence: Serve as the executive sponsor for key accounts. Build relationships with C-level stakeholders within our client organizations to ensure alignment with their business goals.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate weekly and quarterly forecasts for renewals and expansion revenue. Use CRM data to identify risks and opportunities early.
  • Operational Excellence: Refine the "Strategic Account Plan" framework. Partner with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure the "voice of the customer" is driving our roadmap.
  • Contract Negotiation: Guide the team through complex, multi-year contract renewals and master service agreement (MSA) negotiations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS or similar college-level education.
  • 8+ years selling in the B2B Software space.
  • Experience working with G-Suite: Gmail, Google Slides, Sheets, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of working with SFDC or relevant CRM.
  • Excellent, clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and a selfless approach to teamwork.
  • Knowledge of retail, real estate, financial services, healthcare or CPG verticals is a plus.
  • A proven ‘problem solver’ with the ability to work in a fast-paced, scaling startup organization.
  • Travel is required 10-20% of the time for conferences and onsite customer meetings.

The U.S. annualized pay range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000 USD. In addition, certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales-based commissions. Base pay offered within the stated range may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related skills, professional experience, education and licenses (if applicable), work location and compensation market data.

Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program. Placer provides medical, dental and vision coverage as well as flexible time off, 401K and equity awards for certain roles.
